AbstractProduct development should cover product design, validation, and manufacturing. In traditional product development, physical validation based on physical trial manufacturing is the key step to confirm the design scheme before physical manufacturing. However, physical validation is costly and inefficient, which could be the main obstacle to achieving rapid product development. The emergence of digital twin provides an opportunity to accelerate product development by eliminating physical validation toward digital validation in the smart manufacturing era. Therefore, a framework of rapid product development based on digital twin is proposed in this paper. During product development, the new product is designed according to the new requirements in the virtual space, in which the existing digital twins of products can be referenced. Then, an ultrahigh-fidelity virtual manufacturing system is constructed for digital trial manufacturing based on the digital twin of the manufacturing system and the design scheme of the new product. An ultrahigh-fidelity digital prototype can be obtained from digital trial manufacturing for digital validation. The new product validation is executed on the digital prototype to test its performance. The digital validation results can be used to improve the design scheme of the new product and boost the corresponding manufacturing processes. In addition, the core characteristics and key technologies of rapid product development based on digital twin are discussed. Finally, a case study is presented to implement the proposed framework and to show the effectiveness of accelerating product development.

The purpose of an automotive chassis is to maintain the shape of the vehicle and bear the various loads that are applied to the vehicle. The structure typically accounts for a large portion of the development and production costs of the new vehicle program, and the designer has many different structural concepts available. Choosing the best is important to ensure acceptable structural performance under other design constraints, such as cost, volume and method of production, product application, and more. The material selection for chassis depends upon various factors like lightness, economy, safety, recyclability, and circulation of life. The current study aims to perform optimization of the design of a heavy vehicle chassis using central composite design & optimal space fill design scheme (s) with the material tested is Al6092/SiC/17.5p MMC. Different design points are generated using design of experiments. The equivalent stress, deformation and mass are evaluated for each design points. The CAD modelling and FE simulation of heavy motor vehicle chassis is conducted using ANSYS software. From the optimization conducted on chassis design, response surface plots of equivalent stress, deformation and mass are generated which enabled to determine the range of dimensions for which these parameters are maximum or minimum. The use of Discontinuously Reinforced Aluminium-Matrix Composites Al6092/SiC/17.5p MMC aided to reduce weight of chassis by 66.25% and 66.68% by using CCD and Optimal space fill design scheme respectively, without much reduction in strength of chassis.

Electromagnetic linear actuators, as key executive components, have a vital impact on the performance of fully flexible variable valve trains. Considering that the conventional moving coil electromagnetic linear actuator (MCELA) has the disadvantages of low force density and a lack of end-passive self-holding ability, a novel composited electromagnetic linear actuator (CELA) is proposed by combining the performance advantages of MCELA and moving iron electromagnetic linear actuator (MIELA) in this work. Firstly, the structure and magnetic circuit design scheme of the proposed actuator are introduced and the finite element simulation model is established. The magnetic field distribution and force characteristics of the actuators are assessed by finite element simulation. Secondly, the construction of the prototype of the actuator is outlined, based on which the feasibility of the design scheme and the steady-state performance of the actuator are verified. Finally, the coordinated control strategy is proposed to realize the multi motion coordination control of the actuator. The research results show that the maximum starting force of the CELA with the end-passive self-holding ability is 574.92 N while the holding force can approach 229.25 N. Moreover, the CELA is proven to have excellent dynamic characteristics and control precision under different motion modes and to have an improved adaptability to the complex working conditions of internal combustion engines.

The recommendation engine is similar to the function of the product recommender in our real life, which provides great convenience for people to choose the appropriate decoration scheme in the process of interior design and decoration. A home improvement website or company can design a suitable recommendation algorithm to provide home improvement program recommendation services for users with decoration needs. After understanding the user behavior of the home decoration website, this paper proposes an interior design scheme recommendation method based on an improved collaborative filtering algorithm. The method designs a collaborative filtering algorithm that combines multilayer hybrid similarity and trust mechanisms. Fuzzy set membership function is introduced to correct users’ rating similarity, and users’ interest vector is extracted to calculate users’ preference for different types of items. The algorithm dynamically fuses those two aspects to obtain the mixed similarity of users; meanwhile, the user’s hybrid similarity and trust are fused in an adaptive model. Then, the user neighbor data set generated based on the overall similarity of users is used as a training set, taking the item scores and features into consideration. On the one hand, the users and the projects are taken into account as well. The final prediction score is more accurate, and the recommendation effect is better. The experimental results show that this method can recommend interior design schemes with high performance, and its performance is better than other methods.

The actual problem of securing the proper functioning of the NGN of Ukraine takinginto account regional peculiarities are studied. The analysis of the state of NGN of Ukraine on the territory of Poltava region by types ofcenters, external geodetic signals, methods of determination of coordinates is carried out in the work. The general problems of functioning of NGN in the territory of Poltava region are established. It is established that in a significant amount of points there are no external geodetic signals. The centers that fix the points of the NGN are represented by more than 40 different types. The centersdiffer in design and size. Some of them are at the same time is references of leveling II category. It is proposed to plan perspectiving measures for the modernization of the NGN on the reasonof the calculation of indicator of regional compliance of the NGN with regulatory requirements forthe density of stations to secure the implementation of topographic surveys. This indicator iscalculated as the ratio of the real amount points in the newly created administrative district to thenormative amount, and is reflected as a percentage. The normative amount is determined on the basisof the area of the respective area and the normative density of stations for the suitable scale of survey. In case of provision of stations at the level of less than 100 % it is necessary to determine theamount of points required to bring the real density in accordance with the normative. Then theexisting NGN needs modernization. Such modernization can be carried out not only in the form of renewal of existing and restoration of lost points, but also through the design and fixation ofadditional points of the calculated number. The analysis of securing of the territory of Poltava region with NGN points for implementationof topographic survey in scales 1:5000, 1:10000, 1:25000 is carried out. Specific proposals toachieve one hundred percent provision of stations in the Poltava region have been developed. Anexample of a possible realization of the respective proposals is illustrated by the design scheme ofadditional stations of the 3 class, developed on the basis of the scheme of the NGN of Ukraine.

Automatic fare collection system (AFCS) is a modern, automatic, networked toll collection system for rail transit ticket sales, collection, billing, charging, statistics, sorting, and management. To realize the subway transit networking operation, this paper designs the subway AFCS based on a distributed file system (DFS), namely, Gluster File System (GlusterFS). Firstly, the multiline center (MLC) in the subway AFCS is designed to analyze the status and current situation of distributed file processing in subway MLC system; secondly, the relevant technical theories are summarized, the Bayesian Network (BN) theoretical model and DFS are explored, and the principles of four DFS are comparatively analyzed; thirdly, the architecture and cluster mode of GlusterFS is expounded, and then based on GlusterFS, the architecture of subway AFCS is discussed. This paper presents several innovation points: first, the subway AFCS is designed based on GlusterFS by analyzing and aiming at the functional requirements, performance requirements, and safety requirements of the MLC subway system; second, the safety risk analysis (SRA) of AFCS is conducted from six security requirements, and a Web scanning system is designed to ensure the system data security. Finally, the design scheme is used to analyze the subway passenger flow and power consumption. The results demonstrate that the design scheme can competently adapt to three different application scenarios. Through comparison of two deployment modes of the Web scanning system, the data security Web scanning system can ensure the safe operation of the AFCS. Furthermore, the statistical analysis of subway passenger flow and power supply data shows that the proposed scheme can support the smooth operation of the subway system, which has significant practical value.

The aim of the work - development of one of the possible methods for seismic analysis that considers the inelastic behavior of structures under seismic loads. This requires the development of seismic analysis methods that take into account the change (decrease) in the bearing capacity or the destruction of individual elements until the final loss of the bearing capacity of the structure. Methods. The dependences and algorithms include determining seismic forces using the method of normal forms, which until now is the main one in solving problems of the seismic resistance theory in seismic regions, calculation formulas to calculate seismic forces at each time step are presented in the form of expansions into natural vibration modes, which regard the changes in the design scheme. The calculation is repeated at each time step as a static calculation for the action of seismic forces determined at the previous stage, before the building collapses. Results. The developed dependencies and algorithms allow to consider changes in the design scheme during vibrations at each time step, changes in the dynamic properties of the building and, as a result, the values of seismic forces. The value of the coefficient of inelastic work of structures K 1, which are given in regulatory documents, do not give fully correspond to the actual behavior of the structure under seismic influences. The proposed calculation method allows to determine the estimated values of seismic forces and their distribution taking into account the influence of damage of elements and the appearance of inelastic zones in the design process of fluctuations at each time step and to assess the dynamic behavior of the building.
