Abstract Older adults with a chronic health condition (e.g. hypertension) use various self-management methods. Healthcare technologies have the potential to support health self-management. However, it is necessary to understand the acceptance of these technologies as a precursor to older adults’ adoption and integration into their health plan. Our focus was on the factors older adults with hypertension initially consider when introduced to three new healthcare technologies that might support their health self-management. We compared their considerations for a blood pressure monitor, an electronic pillbox and a multifunction robot to simulate incrementally more complex technologies. Twenty-three participants (aged 65–84) completed four questionnaires and a semi-structured interview. The interview transcripts were analysed using a thematic analysis approach. We identified the factors that were frequently mentioned among the participants for each of the three healthcare technologies. The factors that older adults initially considered were familiarity, perceived benefits, perceived ease of use, perceived need for oneself, relative advantage, complexity and perceived need for others. Upon further reflection, participants considered advice acceptance, compatibility, convenience, facilitating conditions, perceived usefulness, privacy, subjective norm, and trust. We integrated the factors that older adults considered into the Healthcare Technology Acceptance Model (H-TAM), which elucidates the complexity of healthcare technology acceptance and provides guidance for future explorations.

New media entertainment is currently being spotlighted by business practitioners and researchers. This article highlighted this issue of elder online users and explored the factors affecting their acceptance decisions in new media entertainment. Older adults prefer to status and value orientations, so their online acceptance of new media entertainment is significantly influenced by the perceived usefulness and social benefits. In addition, types of living arrangement significantly affect technology acceptance model of older adults.

<p>This study aims to examine the factors influencing the acceptability of SIMDA in the Batu Municipal Government. The research model used the <em>Technology Acceptance Model</em> (TAM), which add external construct from D&amp;M success model of information system and other construct namely the <em>commitment of management</em>, <em>social influence</em> and the Individually influence such as <em>computer self-efficacy</em> and <em>personal innovativenes</em>. This research employed census sampling method. The samples are all official of in financial department who use SIMDA. Results of the research showed that <em>perceived usefulness</em> was affected by <em>management commitment</em>, <em>social influence</em>, <em>information quality, system quality</em>, <em>personal innovativeness</em>, and<em> perceived ease of use</em>. In addition, <em>Computer self-efficacy</em>, and <em>personal innovativeness</em> influenced to <em>perceived ease of use</em>. Furthermore, the <em>acceptance SIMDA</em> was influenced <em>perceived usefulness</em> and <em>perceived ease of use</em>. As the leading provider of education, teachers need to have high technology adoption skills. There is LMS technology in inputs that can streamline learning practices. Mostly with inclusion of the impact of organizational culture and machine self-efficacy on LMS Schoology, this study aims to see the capacity of technology acceptance by teachers using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).The results of the study using the model described above for teachers in the cities of Salatiga and Boyolali show that organizational culture does not have a major impact on attitude or purpose to use towards LMS Schoology.The self-efficacy of computers may not affect perceived utility, but has a substantial impact on perceived ease of use. The model also indicates that teachers, while they find it difficult to incorporate it, have a positive attitude towards the nature of LMS technology.

Existing theories in the technology acceptance and Internet adoption fields have examined the adoption among users, which can be classified into two categories: technological and behavioral perspectives. In this paper, the authors propose an integrated household Internet adoption model combining both perspectives to provide a holistic view on the subject. For this purpose, the three primal models of technology acceptance and usage behavior, the technology acceptance model (TAM), theory of planned behavior (TPB), and uses and gratifications theory (U&G), are selected to construct the integrated model. In this way, based on the dimensions of the studied theories, specific constructs are defined to integrate these dimensions according to their similarities and appropriateness. The relationship between the proposed model’s constructs are then hypothesized based on the literature findings, and examined in a case study of household Internet adoption among Iranian households. Also, structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to illustrate the relationships’ coefficients between proposed model constructs, and derived implications for the Internet adoption among Iranian households are discussed based on the research findings.

<p>Open educational resources (OER) are making their way into a variety of educational contexts from formal lesson planning to just in time learning. Educators and training professionals have been recognized as an important audience for these materials. The concepts of <em>self</em>-<em>efficacy</em> and <em>outcome judgment</em> from social cognitive learning theory serve as theoretical constructs to measure educator perceptions of OER. This study uses a path analysis, based on the technology acceptance model, to understand adoption of these resources by this audience with a particular emphasis on self-efficacy. Among the participants, three main groups were identified: K-12 educators, higher education professionals, and those involved in workplace training. A discriminant function analysis found that K-12 educators stood out as finding OER relevant to improving their practice. Recommendations are made in regards to an emphasis on easy to use designs to improve application self-efficacy of OER and instructional messaging for future K-12 educators.</p>
