Driving Sound Synthesis with a Live Audio Signal

Author(s):
Cornelius Poepel

An overview on problems and methods to map performers’ actions to a synthesized sound is presented. Approaches incorporating the audio signal are described and a synthesis method called “Audio Signal Driven Sound Synthesis” is introduced. It uses the raw audio signal of a traditional instrument to drive a synthesis algorithm. The system tries to support musicians with satisfying instrument-specific playability. In contrast to common methods that try to increase openness for the player’s input, openness of the system is achieved here by leaving essential playing parameters non-formalized as far as possible. Three implementations of the method and one application are described. An empirical study and experiences with users testing the system implemented for a bowed string instrument are presented. This implementation represents a specific case of a broader range of approaches to the treatment of user input, which have applications in a wide variety of contexts involving human-computer interaction.

Kata kunci: framework, HCI, jurnal, OJS, PKP  Abstract: Open Journal Systems (OJS) is an open source software application to manage and publish scientific journals, to support this function Open Journal Systems (OJS) generally has features that in each version's development experience improvements and adjustments to the needs. The process of publishing a journal greatly affects the accreditation process of the journal, therefore it is necessary to understand the business process of sending articles from the author using Open Journal Systems (OJS) until the article is published. In the system required modeling planning, design and use of interfaces between users and computers, this interaction is known as the interaction between humans and computers (Human Computer Interaction). Framework is used to understand the interaction of computer systems to provide language facilities between the user's language and system language. Users (users) and computer systems (systems) can interact with each other using several modes of interaction, namely the combination style form fill-in and direct manipulation. Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.x. has a more concise, easy and flexible appearance because it is built on the principle of Interaction Framework involving users, input, system, output.  Keywords: framework, HCI, journals, OJS, PKP

Allowing trainees to get a real sense of immersion, an advanced virtual maintenance training system of equipment must have an effective Human Computer Interaction. This paper discussed issues related to the design of Human Computer Interaction used in Virtual Maintenance Training System of Equipment, and provided specific implementation of three typical features: implementation of display text messages in real time; implementation of response to user input events; implementation of getting the interactive results. Based on a real-time visual simulation software system named Vega, human computer interaction were accomplished, and presented the code segment. Results show that the interface of human computer interaction was very friendly, and the Virtual Maintenance Training System of Equipment was efficient.

Deductive synthesis is a method of software development where an algorithm is derived from a formal problem specification which guarantees the reliability of final product. The paper introduces a program synthesis method PAR most of whose synthesis steps are mechanical and some of them can be done interactively by human-computer interaction, and formally synthesizes a dependable algorithm for a selection problem supported by PAR method and PAR platform. Program synthesis based on PAR covers a number of classical algorithm design tactics, develops algorithmic programs together with their proof of correctness, and makes the algorithm more reliable and solving idea more understandable.
