This article examines the improvements provided when multimedia information in traditional SCADAS are included in electric facility management and maintenance. Telecontrol use in the electric sector, with the fundamental objective of providing increased and improved service to the operators who manage these systems, is also described. One of the most important contributions is the use of an agent network that is distributed around the electric facility. Through the use of multi-agent technology and its placement in embedded systems, to the authors design a system with a degree of intelligence and independence to optimize data collection and provide reaction proposals for the operator. The proposed agent-based architecture is also reviewed in this article, as are the design of an example agent and the results obtained in a pilot experience using the proposed hardware platform.

Abstract This paper presents a new distributed agent-based scheme to enhance the transient stability of power systems by maintaining phase angle cohesiveness of interconnected generators through proper relay coordination with critical clearing time (CCT) information. In this distributed multi-agent infrastructure, intelligent agents represent various physical device models to provide dynamic information and energy flow among different physical processes of power systems. The agents can communicate with each other in a distributed manner with a final aim to control circuit breakers (CBs) with CCT information as this is the key issue for maintaining and enhancing the transient stability of power systems. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated on a standard IEEE 39-bus New England benchmark system under different large disturbances such as three-phase short-circuit faults and changes in loads within the systems. From the simulation results, it is found that the proposed scheme significantly enhances the transient stability of power systems as compared to a conventional scheme of static CB operation.

This paper introduces a new product modeling method: MAPMNM(Multi-Agent Based Product Modeling for Networked Manufacturing) based on analysing the requirements of product modeling. The method offers a unified product master model and distributed domain models to alliance enterprise based on network by using web service and the agent technology of AI domain. Firstly, the paper gives the framework of the MAPMNM.Secondly, it elaborates on the web services, the architecture and running menchanism of the domain agent in MAPMNM.

A Multi-Agent based transmission fault diagnosis system is researched in this paper. Many data digging analysis methods are employed, combined with data warehouse, OLAP and Multi-Agent technology. An intelligent decision supporting system for monitoring transmission network data is built. Data digging method is used to intelligently analyze and process fault data in the data warehouse, and Agent technology is used to realize data collection, pretreatment, inquiry, knowledge Automatic extraction, mining and other functions, which makes the whole mining process intellectual and intelligent. It aids transmission management with decision-making, thus to make the monitoring and repair of power grid fault more timely and accurate.

This paper proposes a distributed artificial intelligence framework to address the co-ordination of interactions among the different standard virtual components during the virtual prototyping of fluid power systems. The approach considers the hydraulic system as a multi-agent system and associates each virtual hydraulic component to a domain agent. A control agent is used to co-ordinate the interactions in the multi-agent system. The representation of the proposed domain agents and the co-ordinated communication via the control agent are discussed in this paper. The paper also presents some details on the implementation of the proposed agent-based architecture and explains how agent communication and collaboration has been accomplished using Java and VRML.
