Coalmines’ productive activity demands safety, comfortability, efficiency and economy, which are just the features of advanced human-machine engineering. Then current situation of advanced human-machine engineering’s application in coalmine is summarized, including: operating devices of coalmine machinery are man-beneficial; “safe color” in coal mining machinery is applied; signals under coalmine are effectively released; noise environment in coalmine are improved. Finally, the future trends of advanced human –engineering are discussed: coalmine safe human-machine engineering, coalmine green human-machine engineering, coalmine virtual human-machine engineering, coalmine intelligentized human-machine engineering, and coalmine digital human-machine engineering, etc.

The reliable operation of coal mining machinery acts as an important guarantee for safe productions in underground coal mines. The status monitoring and fault diagnosis of traditional coal mining machinery mainly rely on threshold judgments. However, a single judgment condition and a long fault propagation chain can be found in the method of threshold judgments, which make it difficult to accurately seek the fault type. By using the data analysis of state parameters for coal mining machinery, fault parameters and propagation paths can be analyzed effectively. This paper takes the cutting unit of a certain type of bolter miners as an example, a static and dynamic numerical analysis method of the cutting unit of bolter miners are established by virtue of FTA-Petri net models and BP-Firefly neural networks, which can provide a new perspective for fault diagnosis of coal mining machinery.

The proliferation of mhealth holds great promise for improving human health. The mhealth industry has developed into a vivid ecosystem, growing steadily over the last years with the adoption of new technologies and business models that are transforming healthcare. To this end, the European Commission launched several initiatives offering great funding opportunities for researchers and organizations. The purpose of this chapter is to provide the readers with a macroscopic analysis of the European mhealth-related funded activities of the last decade. The study examines the current situation and future trends in three main axes (innovation, area of application, and adoption) to assess whether the provided mhealth solutions are positioned to have a fundamental impact on healthcare domain. The mhealth research is accelerating fast and holds great promise, improving both patient outcomes while lowering the healthcare costs.
