Compared with rigid robots, soft robots have better adaptability to the environment because of their pliability. However, due to the lower structural stiffness of the soft manipulator, the posture of the manipulator is usually decided by the weight and the external load under operating conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct dynamics modeling and movement analysis of the soft manipulator. In this paper, a fabric reinforced soft manipulator driven by a water hydraulic system is firstly proposed, and the dynamics of both the soft manipulator and hydraulic system are considered. Specifically, a dynamic model of the soft manipulator is established based on an improved Newton–Euler iterative method, which comprehensively considers the influence of inertial force, elastic force, damping force, as well as combined bending and torsion moments. The dynamics of the water hydraulic system consider the effects of cylinder inertia, friction, and water response. Finally, the accuracy of the proposed dynamic model is verified by comparing the simulation results with the experimental data about the steady and dynamic characteristics of the soft manipulator under various conditions. The results show that the maximum sectional error is about 0.0245 m and that the maximum cumulative error is 0.042 m, which validate the effectiveness of the proposed model.

For the successful implementation of alternative protein sourcesforbiorefinery, optimization of the process parameters is crucial. Knowledge of the rheological propertiesis necessary for the design and development of appropriate equipment and process calculations. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of the following pre-treatments: temperature, pressure andeffect of initial oil content on the rheological properties of sunflower seedcake and larvae tissue. The rheological behavior of two protein sourceswas determined by using a rotational viscometer with a hydraulic system and thermostatic bath attached to the equipment. Using the mathematical apparatus and experimental data it was observed that the plastic viscosity of the sunflower seed cake corresponded to the viscosity of the vegetable oil, which confirmed the Bingham rheology assumption put forward in this work. For the larvae mass, a Hershey Buckley fluid model was proposed.A positive linear relationship was found for pressure and a negativelinear relationship was found for the oil content of the sunflower seed cake and larvae tissue on shear stress. Keywords: rheological property, sunflower seed cake, larvae, pulsed electricaldischarge, viscoplasticity flow, Bingham model, modelling

In order to improve the fault diagnosis effectiveness of hydraulic system in erecting devices, the fuzzy neural neural network is applied to carry out fault diagnosis of hydraulic system. Firstly, the main faults of hydraulic system of erecting mechanism are summarized. The main faults of hydraulic system of erecting devices concludes abnormal noise, high temperature of hydraulic oil of hydraulic system, leakage of hydraulic system, low operating speed of hydraulic system, and the characteristics of different faults are analyzed. Secondly, basic theory of fuzzy neural network is studied, and the framework of fuzzy neural network is designed. The inputting layer, fuzzy layer, fuzzy relation layer, relationship layer after fuzzy operation and outputting layer of fuzzy neural network are designed, and the corresponding mathematical models are confirmed. The analysis procedure of fuzzy neural network is established. Thirdly, simulation analysis is carried out for a hydraulic system in erecting device, the BP neural network reaches convergence after 600 times iterations, and the fuzzy neural network reaches convergence after 400 times iterations, fuzzy neural network can obtain higher accuracy than BP neural network, and running time of fuzzy neural network is less than that of BP neural network, therefore, simulation results show that the fuzzy neural network can effectively improve the fault diagnosis efficiency and precision. Therefore, the fuzzy neural network is reliable for fault diagnosis of hydraulic system in erecting devices, which has higher fault diagnosis effect, which can provide the theory basis for healthy detection of hydraulic system in erecting devices.

Introduction. The paper submits the analysis of existing design solutions of flow dividers used to synchronize hydraulic drives of working bodies of technological and mobile machines. The market demands for multithreaded throttle flow dividers without valves with the controlled division ratio, such as multi-axle vehicle chassis, are identified. The objective of the work was to analyze the possibility and rationale for developing a throttle four-way flow divider without valves with sensing elements of the Venturi tube type. The solution should provide the synchronicity of movement (rotation) of more than three working bodies of technological and mobile machines.Materials and Methods. A patent search for the designs of hydraulic flow dividers is carried out, and systems that require the division of the hydraulic fluid flow into more than two executive bodies are considered. An upgrade option, which allows dividing the flow into four branches, is proposed for the design of a three-channel throttle flow divider without valves.Results. The urgency of developing a multithreaded throttle flow divider without valves for application in industrial and mobile machines is validated. Two types of four-flow dividers are considered, their weaknesses are indicated. It is noted that the development of a multithreaded throttle flow divider based on the designs created in 1989 and 1991 will reduce the number of hydraulic pumps and get rid of the series connection of double-flow dividers. In this way, it is possible to reduce pressure losses in the hydraulic system and implement adaptive control of hydraulic motors of multi-motor mobile machines. The possibility to obtain a divider/combiner into four flows by adding an outlet chamber connected to the membrane chamber through a channel entering the Venturi nozzle on the basis of a three-flow throttle divider is shown. The principle of operation of such equipment is described.Discussion and Conclusions. The principles of construction of throttle flow dividers without valves are considered. An upgrade option is proposed to increase the number of division channels from three to four. However, to validate the operability of this design, a numerical analysis of the various modes of operation of the divider is required — calculation of the reduced volumetric stiffness of its working cavities. The information obtained can be used to modernize the hydraulic units of technological and mobile machines, increase their reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency. The issues that need to be solved in further research are identified.

Although some reliability importance measures and maintenance policies for mechanical products exist in literature, they are rarely investigated with reference to weakest component identification in the design stage and preventive maintenance interval during the life cycle. This paper is mainly study reliability importance measures considering performance and costs (RIMPC) of maintenance and downtime of the mechanical hydraulic system (MHS) for hydraulic excavators (HE) with energy regeneration and recovery system (ERRS) and suggests the scheduled maintenance interval for key components and the system itself based on the reliability R i t . In the research, the required failure data for reliability analysis is collected from maintenance crews and users over three years of a certain type of hydraulic excavators. Minitab is used for probable distribution estimation of the mechanical hydraulic system failure times, and the model is verified to obey Weibull distribution. RIMPC is calculated by multiplying the reliability R i t and weighting factor W i and then compared with other classical importance measures. The purpose of this paper is to identify the weakest component for MHS in the design stage and to make appropriate maintenance strategies which help to maintain a high reliability level for MHS. The proposed method also provides the scientific maintenance suggestion for improving the MHS reliability of the HE reasonably, which is efficient, profitable, and organized.

Hydraulic steering systems for mechanical devices, for example, manipulators or vehicle steering systems, should be able to achieve high positioning precision with high energy efficiency. However, this condition is very often not met in practical applications. This is usually due to the stiffness of the hydraulic system being too low. As a result, additional corrections are required to achieve the required positioning precision. Unfortunately, this means additional energy losses in the hydraulic control system. In this study, this problem is presented using the example of a hydraulic steering system for an articulated frame steer vehicle. This hydraulic steering system should provide the required directional stability for road traffic safety reasons. So far, this issue, connected mainly with the harmful phenomenon of so-called vehicle snaking behaviour, has not been solved sufficiently practically. To meet the needs of industrial practice, taking into account the current global state of knowledge and technology, Wrocław University of Science and Technology is performing comprehensive experimental and computational studies on the snaking behaviour of an articulated frame steer wheeled commercial vehicle. The results of these tests and analyses showed that the main cause of problems that lead to the snaking behaviour of this vehicle class is the effective torsional stiffness of the hydraulic steering system. For this reason, a novel mathematical model of the effective torsional stiffness was developed and validated. This model comprehensively took into account all important mechanical and hydraulic factors that affect the stiffness of a hydraulic system, resulting in the examined snaking behaviour. Because of this, it is possible at the design stage to select the optimal parameters of the hydraulic steering system to minimise any adverse influence on the snaking behaviour of articulated frame steer wheeled vehicles. This leads to minimising the number of required corrections and minimising energy losses in this hydraulic steering system. The innovative model presented in the article can be used to optimise positioning accuracy, for example, in manipulators and any mechanical system with hydraulic steering of any system of any mechanical parts.

The aim of this work is to create a three-dimensional model of a new speed change control device using an engineering CAD system Solidworks. In particular, the article describes the methods of computer construction of a three-dimensional model of a rotary stopper in the form of a closed-loop hydraulic system of the device for smooth control of speed changes through a gear differential. The control link can be either a ring gear, or a carrier, or a sun gear. Ways of creating new parts of the device, use of elements from standard libraries and coordination of their dimensions in assembly have been considered. The ability to parameterize the dimensions allows you to automate the creation of both a single part and the whole device of a particular design, based on the specified source data. The application of special meshes for modeling movable and fixed joints allows you to correctly place the parts, control the correctness of their assembly, and then conduct kinematic and power studies of the device, animate its elements in motion. It has been concluded that the use of computer three-dimensional modeling in the design of such stoppers allows: at the initial stage of design to get a visual idea of the stopper of rotational motion; use a computer to view the created model from any point; easy to edit three-dimensional models, i.e. make the necessary changes; achieve great savings in time and design costs; get a large number of possible design solutions that need to be analyzed in detail and in depth to choose the rational, i.e. the best fit. The created model of the stopper of rotational movement allows to choose the optimal place of its installation in a gear differential of the device of speed change from the point of view of use of the minimum sizes and volume. Based on this, computer simulation must precede design. Keywords: three-dimensional modeling; rotary stopper; closed-loop hydraulic system; gear differential
