The extensive development vertical joints is one of the major features in the loess region. The joint destroyed the loess slope integrity, reduces the slope stability. First of all, through the field investigation and analysis the loess joint development characteristics, joint with slope tendency towards a big angle oblique, joints control slope trend. Secondly, according to the different regional slope stress analysis, tableland soil area is mainly by collapsibility tension, soil in the slope zone mainly by horizontal thrust produced by unloading effect, the slope area joint development is divided into collapsibility joint development zone, tension joint development zone, compression joint development zone and the excavation unloading joint development zone.

A slope stability assessment of Wadi Dhahr area, located northwest of Sana’a the capital of Yemen, was carried out in this study. The study area consists of sandstone and volcanic rocks that are deformed by number of faults, joints and basaltic dykes. All the important factors affecting slope stability in the area such as slope angle, slope height, discontinuities measurements, weathering, vegetation cover, rainfall and previous landslides were evaluated. The study was conducted based on the integration of field investigation and satellite image processing. A landslide susceptibility map was produced with the Landslide Possibility Index (LP1) System, and the correlation values were computed between the factors measured and Landslide Possibility Index values. The fractures counted by satellite image were categorised according to their length and zones based on their concentrations. It was found that plain sliding and rockfall are the main modes of failure in the area, while rolling and toppling are rare. Some remedial measures are proposed to protect the slopes where it is needed,  such as the removal of rock overhangs, unstable blocks and trees, and by supporting the toe of slopes and overhanging parts by retaining walls and erecting well sealed drainage conduits. The results will assist in slope management and land use planning in the area.

Maritime disputes in the Northeast Asia region are nothing new. The Exclusive Economic Zone (eez) regime under the u.n. Convention on the Law of the Sea (unclos) spurred many coastal states, including these countries, to declare eezs. This has led Korea to conclude bilateral fishery agreements with Japan and China, with the goals of achieving sustainable fishery management in the East Sea (Sea of Japan) and the Yellow Sea, and peacefully cooperating with these countries in sharing fishery resources in the region. While not without shortcomings, the agreements provide important procedures for cooperation in fisheries management and sustaining fishery resources. In addition to competition over fishery resources, Korea and Japan agreed to establish a Joint Development Zone (jdz) in 1974. Although the Korea-Japan jdz, however, has not produced oil so far, it nevertheless serves as a model for maritime dispute resolution.

The stability analysis of loess slopes with a rising groundwater level is a problem that integrates unsaturated and transient seepage, stress analysis, and stability prediction. For this purpose, a sequentially coupled method of seepage-softening-stability was used. First, seepage analysis of a loess slope with a rising groundwater level was conducted according to unsaturated and transient seepage analysis theory. Second, the spatial distribution of the deformation and strength parameters of the soil, both of which were based on the calculated results of the seepage analysis, were adjusted according to the water-induced structural deterioration equation. Third, the vector sum analysis method of loess slope stability, which was based on the temporal-spatial distribution laws of effective unit weight, elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio, cohesion, internal friction angle, and seepage force, was performed by the body force method. To verify the proposed method, the limit equilibrium method of loess slope stability was conducted by the surface force method. Finally, the progressive failure process of a loess slope with a rising groundwater level on the White Deer Plain was presented as an example. A comparison analysis of the calculated results of the two methods revealed that the proposed method was reasonable and reliable.

This article selected a typical loess slope engineering as the research object, and through the characteristics of loess landslide, landslide environmental geological conditions, the formation mechanism of the landslide study of the loess area of urban slope instability factors, loess slope stability of the calculation method and reinforcement measures. This paper adopts the theory of Morgenstern-Price to analyzing the stability of the slope, referencing with Sweden finite slice method, Simplified Bishop method, Simplify Janbu method. The reinforcement adopts the technology of possessed anchor to disposing the loess slope, and has good Practice effect. The loess slope stability study area has a large reference.

stability analysis is the base for control the loess high slope in loess area. on the assumption of arc-model in below segment, straight slip surface in model, uprightness in the up sect, a general expression of safety factor for Step-shaped Cutting High Loess Slope is deduced According to the balance of force and torque balance. Regard the parameters of the intersection of arc and line coordinates of the location and the inclination of the line segment as variable, the loess high slope stability analysis are programmed, he automation of the calculation is achieved. This method is verified by k202+020~k202+158 loess high slipe in Huangling –YAN’AN expressway.
