The problem of airport site selection involves many influence factors; it belongs to multi-attribute decision-making problem. In order to solve the problem, fuzzy decision-making thesis is introduced. Firstly evaluation criteria system is established which consist of 4 first-grade criteria including execution conditions, operation conditions, operation supports, social and economic conditions. Secondly, triangular fuzzy number is introduced into representing the evaluation value of different alternatives in the decision matrix by several experts. The final evaluation value of each alterative is achieved after considering weight of each expert and weight of each criterion. In order to rank final evaluation value expressed by triangular fuzzy number, the degree of dominance between alternatives is defined by the way of difference of two triangular fuzzy numbers. The complementary judgment matrix expressed by crisp number is built up on degree of dominance between alternatives. The ordering vector of alternatives, which is eigenvector, is figured out from complementary judgment matrix. At last, a numeric example is made to demonstrate the method proposed in this paper is effective and feasible.

A new comprehensive evaluation based on triangular fuzzy number method is put forward in this paper, according to the principle of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and using trichotomy to determine membership function. And a calculation example is illustrated by using the method presented. The method is a reference to the bid evaluation in the future.

One of the key issues for support fuzzy decision-making is fuzzy number ranking. The existing ranking methods either do not provide a total ordering or cannot be effectively applied to decision-making processes. In this paper, we first give five basic principles that interval number ranking must satisfy, and construct a quantitative ranking model of interval numbers based on the synthesis effects of each index. We then propose a new constructions method of synthesis effect function systematically. Third, we also develop a new fuzzy numbers ranking model based on numerical characteristics, combining with the interval representation theorem of fuzzy numbers, and analyze the performance and characteristics of this ranking method by a case-based example. The results indicate that this proposed ranking method has good operability and interpretability, which can integrate the decision consciousness into decision process effectively and serve as a guideline for constructing different fuzzy decision methods.

This paper is concerned with the uncertain multiattribute decision-making (UMADM) of which the attribute value is triangular fuzzy number. Firstly, the max-relative similarity degree and min-relative similarity degree of alternative decision-making objects are given based on the relative similarity degree of triangular fuzzy number, the advantage relation theories to comparative relative similarity degree of triangular fuzzy number are proposed, and some good properties, relations, and conclusions are derived. Secondly, in order to determine the attribute weight vector, a triangular fuzzy number-based decision-making object relative similarity programming model is established with the help of maximizing possibility degree algorithm rules in the cooperative game theory. Subsequently, by aggregating the comparison overall relative similarity degree values of all decision-making objects, we could pick over and sort the set of alternative objects and gather a new model algorithm for the relative similarity programming of triangular fuzzy number-based multiple attribute decision-making alternatives. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the feasibility and practicability of the model algorithm presented in this paper.

PurposeThis study aims to explore the critical influencing factors that lead to the site selection failure of waste-to-energy (WtE) projects in China under the influence of the “Not In My Back Yard” (NIMBY) effect, which can provide references to improve the decision-making process of similar projects in the future.Design/methodology/approachThe fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method was used to propose an analytical framework for exploring the critical influencing factors affecting the site selection failure of WtE projects. The causal relationship between different influencing factors is finally determined on the basis of the opinions of 12 experts from universities, government departments, consulting units, planning and design units, construction units and WtE enterprises.FindingsResults showed that six crucial factors resulted in the site selection failure of WtE projects from the NIMBY effect perspective: “Insufficient public participation,” “Near the place of residence,” “Nonstandard government decision-making processes,” “Low information disclosure,” “Destroys the surrounding environment,” and “Imperfect compensation scheme.”Originality/valueResults can determine the priorities and causal relationships among the various influencing factors. The decision-making optimization suggestions can provide reference for decision- makers, thereby possibly promoting the scientific and standardization of site selection decision process.

On the foundation of the theory of the intuitionistic fuzzy set, this paper uses the triangular fuzzy number to denote the membership degree and the non‐membership degree and proposes the triangular intuitionistic fuzzy number. Then the operation rules of triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers are defined. The weighted arithmetic averaging operator and the weighted geometric average operator are presented and used to the decision making area after defined the score function and the accuracy function. An effective solution is offered for multi‐attitude decision‐making problem and an active try is made. Santrauka Remiantis numanomų neapibrežtųjų aibių teorija, šiame straipsnyje aprašomas trečiojo laipsnio neapibrežtasis skaičius, apibūdinantis priklausomumo laipsni.
