This paper addresses cracks arising on a newly-constructed cement concrete pavement, which need to be treated prior to handover acceptance. They should be renovated by taking different treatment measures, depending on their number, form and location. After the cracks are renovated, the service performance of the pavement can be enhanced and its service life extended.

The effective treatment of void cement concrete pavement slab through grouting technology is the important premise of ensuring the service performance of asphalt overlay engineer on cement concrete pavement. Based on the current problems of grouting technology, we did experimental studies on the mixing proportion of grout slurry and analyzed the effects of slurry composition and admixture type on mechanical properties including the strength, mobility, viscosity, expansion rate and bleeding rate of the slurry and on the service performance. Based on these, we put forward the control indexes for grouting slurry mix proportion determination which provided guidance for the design and construction quality control of grouting under the old cement concrete pavement slab.

Aiming at the service performance characteristics of cement concrete pavement, this paper puts forward optimized design concept for groove parameters of cement pavement. Single groove parameter optimal choice is systematically analyzed based on integrated service quality of cement pavement. Through a variety of multi-contrast laboratory tests and theoretical analysis, from three aspects of anti-slide, strength, and noise reduction, optimized design scheme of groove parameters are demonstrated and proposed, and groove parameters and form suitable for environment characteristics in seasonal frozen region are given.

Cement concrete pavement joint filler construction is a weak spot. Joint filler debonding is often caused due to unnormal construction, so as to result in decreased pavement quality and reduced pavement service life. This paper describes the successful application of silicone modified polyurethane joint filler to cement concrete pavement in chilly regions, sets performance specification requirements on the filler, and improves and perfects the joint sealing construction process and later inspection technique to provide a basis for joint filler construction henceforth in chilly regions.

The damages in two rigid base cement concrete pavement were investigated. The data analysis suggests that the void beneath curling slab resulting from the temperature gradient changing leads to pavement damages. With the benefit of the pavement curling structure numerical model established in this article, the void changing law beneath curling slab and loading stress were analyzed. The loading stress level increases dramatically due to void occurring beneath curling slab. The calculation method of loading stress in the curling slab was given. The fatigue life analysis further reveals that the void beneath curling slab caused by temperature gradient changes is the fundamental reason for the decreasing of the service life of cement concrete pavement. The service life of investigating section were predicted and analyzed according to the fatigue life prediction model established in this article and the survey data.

Abstract. Inspection of the monolithic cement-concrete pavement of the «Odessa» airport runway was carried out. Visual inspection of the runway surface, taxiways and apron for defects has been performed. The condition of the runway pavement was assessed as "excellent", destruction category I. In addition, strength tests of the rigid concrete pavement upper layer were carried out using non-destructive testing methods and core testing. The obtained strength characteristics correspond to the design requirements; the concrete has a grade of at least C32/40. Based on the processed data and own scientific developments, proposals were drawn up for a new standard (instead of SNyP 2.05.08-85 "Aérodromy") regarding the requirements for materials, concrete mixtures and concretes based on them for the runways construction in Ukraine. Modern requirements for monolithic cement-concrete airfield pavements require an extension of their service life up to 40 years. To ensure such indicators of serviceability, in addition to high strength indicators, it is imperative to ensure the rigid pavements durability using high-performance modified concretes. The proposals indicate the cement type, aggregates and chemical admixtures that can be used in the manufacture of concrete for airfield pavements. The requirements for the concrete and concrete mixture properties, the process of concrete curing are also presented. Taking into account the modern superplasticizers and the requirements for the workability of concrete mixtures for the construction of monolithic cement-concrete airfield pavements, the maximum W/C should be in the range of 0.3-0.35. To increase the flexural strength and crack resistance, it is desirable to use dispersed concrete reinforcement. To ensure the service life and satisfactory operational condition of the runway pavements, it is necessary to conduct an annual inspection for the timely identification and correction of arising defects.

Special load has produced serious damage to the concrete pavement because of the great gross weight and heavy axle load, but the present specification has not mentioned this kind of load. On this occasion, Several conditions of critical load are identified through ANSYS finite element model analysis and the formula through statistical regression analysis to the bottom maximum tension stress is drawn up. Which can not only guide the concrete pavement design under the special load but also the result may be referred by the other kinds of engineering.
