As a result of the limitation of teaching equipment hardware conditions, server configuration and management of the experimental teaching is hard to finish involving multi-homed host and multiple IP subnets network experiment. Aimed at the problem existing in the experimental teaching and the characteristics of the server configuration and management courses use the VMware virtualization technology to build a virtual network to IPSec protocol based on transport pattern between multiple subnets experiment teaching. A real trial of experimental teaching is conducted among the 12-year students majoring in computer network in Zheng zhou Normal University, and the students provide a good feedback.

In this work, we studied the online blended learning model of computer network experimentation, focusing mainly on the problem of traditional network experiments being limited by location and time, and explore the applicability of the small private online course (SPOC) advanced teaching concepts to computer network online experiment teaching. Based on the structure of a combination of virtual and real, real and not virtual, an online network experiment platform and management system has been designed and constructed, enabling students to carry out remote online computer network hardware experiments anytime and anywhere, without being restricted by time, space, or content. Using the online network experiment platform, we can organize the experimental modules and knowledge points via the SPOC course concept, by developing online network experimental content, modularizing and fragmenting of the experiments, creating the pre-experimental explanation and experiment preview videos, and evaluating the assignments via peer grading to analyze students’ learning behavior. By exploring online network experimental teaching methods and management models, offering experimental guidance in an interactive manner, and highlighting the openness and sharing characteristics of online experimental teaching platforms, we can improve the utilization rate for teaching resources, and provide ideas for applied scientific research methods.

Computer Basis is one of public obligatory courses in university. According to its characteristic and the different computer skills of undergraduates, network teaching has become the priority of educational reform for this course. It mostly focuses on theoretical knowledge, while very little on interactivity. This paper discussed Virtual Reality Technology with 3D Modeling by 3dsMax and building virtual reality scenes on VR-Platform, and also gave three examples of how to deploy this technology to create interactive network teaching: Computer hardware assembly experiment, Computer working principle demonstration and Computer network experiment.

Abstract Virtualization of physical network devices is a relatively new technology, that allows to improve the network organization and gives new possibilities for Software Defined Networking (SDN). Network virtualization is also commonly used for testing and debugging environments, before implementing new designs in production networks. Important aspect of network virtualization is selecting virtual platform and technology, that offer maximal performance with minimal physical resource utilization. This article presents a comparative analysis of performance of the virtual network created by the virtual CSR1000v and virtual machines running Windows 8.1 on two different virtual private cloud platforms: VMware vSphere 5.5 and Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012 R2. In such prepared testbed we study the response time (delay) and throughput of virtual network devices.

Regarding the teaching of the course Computer Network, this article analyzes the MAC frame format and the structure of ARP message, designs a virtual machine test environment, and tries to structure the concept of ARP Messages in the virtual network environment which can be realized into practical methods. This method is conducive to the learning of the theories of the structure of ARP messages, providing a new way of thinking to explore from theories to the practice of the computer network courses.
