Jixi BasinHegang Basin and Boli basin are major coal mining areas of the Daqing Exploration Area. They are rich in coal resources. In this paper, through analyzing the main controlling factors of the enrichment and reservoiring of the CBM, and the analogy of geological conditions between basins in studying area and other basins, the coalbed methane exploration and development is very successful. Basing on this, the article chooses Fuxin basin and Black Warrior basin as contrast basins to predict the resource by analogy, as the two basins have the similar geological conditions with the basins in studying area. The results show that Jixi basin has the highest total CBM resource, which is as much as 1672.07×108m3. And Hegang basin has the highest score of the potential enrichment of resource, so these two are preferred profitable exploration basins.

Using data analysis and comparative analysis, the distribution of Coalbed methane (CBM) gas content in southern Junggar were analyzed on the basis of the southern Junggar Basin coalfield geological data, and the main controlling factors of CBM accumulation were studied. The results show that, Gas content ranges from 2cm3/g to 15cm3/g, which overall is highest in central and eastern and becomes progressively smaller in trend of westward. The study area has many characteristics, such as Multi-seam, large coal seam thickness, mainly Fine-grained clastic rock, which is conducive to the enrichment of the CBM. Study area belongs to confined aquifer of low water-richness and receives the supply of atmospheric precipitation and river. In the coal seams within a certain depth formed Runoff water and the CBM diffusion pattern of desorption - diffusion - transport - water soluble gas runoff, which are not conducive to the enrichment of the CBM.

"Clean technology and low carbon" is becoming a new trend of energy development worldwide. To speed up Coalbed Methane (CBM) exploration and development is of significant importance to reduce coal mine gas accidents, to protect atmospheric environment and to improve energy structure. Greater efforts have been exerted to CBM development, and three major CBM enterprises emerged. Qinnan, Lu’an and Sanjiao cooperation modes are developed to promote the coordinated development of gas extraction and coal mining. Many exploration and development technologies, tailored for various rank coal methane and for different geological conditions, are developed. Exploring technology, in CBM buried deeper than 800m and in low-rank coal bed methane development, has achieved substantial breakthrough. Moreover, Qinnan, Hancheng, Daning-jixian and Baode four favorable blocks are all adjacent to the major existing pipelines. China is rich in CBM resources, with great potentials and promising prospects, however, two factors of technology and management are still constraining the development of China’s CBM. Based on the analysis of the key factors, four following suggestions are proposed: to adjust strategies based on the resource distribution, to further coordinate governmental policies and entrepreneur performance, to strive to make technological breakthroughs in increasing single well yield and in promoting integrated economic efficiency, to establish a unified information platform to avoid disorderly competition and repeated investment.

Based on coalbed methane geology theory, make use of coal and oil drilling data, from both of the coal reservoir characteristics and conservation conditions, Through comparative analysis of a number of geological factors of coalbed thickness, burial depth, metamorphic grade, gas content, roof and floor lithology, dip angle, etc, and found that there are many similarities between Jixi Basin and Black Warrior Basin in the United States of coalbed methane reservoir conditions. Furthermore, referred the domestic and abroad coalbed methane mining experience, a number of geological factors of Jixi Basin were made grading evaluation, optimized favorable blocks, and we found that the favorable coalbed methane target area are the F and H in the south of the basin, and the F block can be used as the preferred favorable coal exploration area.
