Circular magnetization processes in electroplated wires is an important topic having straight connection with sensor applications of these soft magnetic materials. In present work the longitudinal and circular hysteresis loops were measured and corresponding magnetization processes were studied in Cu98Be2/Co16Fe20Ni64 wires. The longitudinal hysteresis loops, Mz-Hz, were measured by inductive technique in a frequency range of 10 to 70 Hz. The circular magnetization curves (Mφ- Hφ) were measured for frequencies of 50 and 100 kHz in the Hφ field up to 1500A/m for different values of the axial external field of 0 to 500 A/m. The longitudinal and circular magnetization curves are comparatively analyzed.

Abstract We describe D-permeameter originally designed by Trnka and later improved by Fajt and Kaspar and we analyze its precision for the measurement of different soft magnetic materials. The device measures DC hysteresis loops using compensation method, so that H and B can be calculated from the magnetization and compensation currents. The differences from results obtained by other standard methods are below 2%.

A model, based on hyperbolic tangent curve, was found to be able to reproduce several different types of magnetization curves of soft magnetic materials. The model is especially suitable for curves with sigmoid shape. The model is compared with experimental data for bonded soft iron powders, and also other ferromagnetic materials (1045 steel). Three adjusting parameters were used in the original hyperbolic tangent equation. Each parameter has different physical meaning.
