Geographic Information (GI) is currently available at any time, from anywhere on the surface of the earth, for any person connected to internet. Some applications of design, implementation, generation and dissemination of maps on the web are recognized as “Webmapping” application, geographic web services or more generally on demand-map making tools. All these web applications aims the satisfaction of user needs by providing personalized maps in a fast response time with a good quality. However, the complexity and diversity of aspects taking into account have lead researchers to focus on one aspect at the expense of others. Consequently, few works have addressed all these aspects simultaneously. The authors propose in this paper, a Webmapping approach organized into two main tasks: (1) query analysis driven by domain ontology in analyzing a query launched by a user on a web browser and (2) map generation process. The first step allows extracting and formalizing user needs through two map determinants factors: the Level of Detail (LoD) and Point of View (PoV) and the second, exploit an hybrid approach “Multi Representation and Generalization” in storing and generating geographical data with integrating Multi-Agent technology in all steps of processing. To evaluate the effectiveness of our proposal, a first tool prototype implementing our approach is so developed using a geographic vector dataset provided by national cartographic agency.

The connection between messaging and action is fundamental both to web applications, such as web search and sentiment analysis, and to economics. However, while prominent online applications exploit messaging in natural (human) language in order to predict non-strategic action selection, the economics literature focuses on the connection between structured stylized messaging to strategic decisions in games and multi-agent encounters. This paper aims to connect these two strands of research, which we consider highly timely and important due to the vast online textual communication on the web. Particularly, we introduce the following question: Can free text expressed in natural language serve for the prediction of action selection in an economic context, modeled as a game In order to initiate the research on this question, we introduce the study of an individual’s action prediction in a one-shot game based on free text he/she provides, while being unaware of the game to be played. We approach the problem by attributing commonsensical personality attributes via crowd-sourcing to free texts written by individuals, and employing transductive learning to predict actions taken by these individuals in one-shot games based on these attributes. Our approach allows us to train a single classifier that can make predictions with respect to actions taken in multiple games. In experiments with three well-studied games, our algorithm compares favorably with strong alternative approaches. In ablation analysis, we demonstrate the importance of our modeling choices—the representation of the text with the commonsensical personality attributes and our classifier—to the predictive power of our model.

Due to the rapid evolution of web applications and computer techniques, visual incompatibility of web pages has become a problem across different browsers and platforms influencing the functionality of the web applications. At the present, researchers have made progress to address such issues; in addition, many commercial tools have emerged as well. However, drawbacks still exist in the existing work, where fully automate testing at the system level is still not achieved. In this paper, we attempt to propose a framework to detect the cross browser visual incompatibilities automatically. Highlights of the proposed framework include template based case organization, version based automation, and similarity embedded incompatibilities identification.
