BackgroundThe WikiRecs evidence summaries and recommendations for clinical practice are developed using trustworthy methods. The process is triggered by studies that may potentially change practice, aiming at implementing new evidence into practice fast.AimTo share our first experiences developing WikiRecs for primary care and to reflect on the possibilities and pitfalls of this method.MethodIn March 2017, we started developing WikiRecs for primary health care to speed up the process of making potentially practice-changing evidence in clinical practice. Based on a well-structured question a systematic review team summarises the evidence using the GRADE approach. Subsequently, an international panel of primary care physicians, methodological experts and patients formulates recommendations for clinical practice. The patient representatives are involved as full guideline panel members. The final recommendations and supporting evidence are disseminated using various platforms, including MAGICapp and scientific journals.ResultsWe are developing WikiRecs on two topics: alpha-blockers for urinary stones and supervised exercise therapy for intermittent claudication. We did not face major problems but will reflect on issues we had to solve so far. We anticipate having the first WikiRecs for primary care available at the end of 2017.ConclusionThe WikiRecs process is a promising method — that is still evolving — to rapidly synthesise and bring new evidence into primary care practice, while adhering to high quality standards.

Critical thinking is considered to be one of the most important abilities which help us to solve problems, interpret information or make decisions in everyday life. Every person needs to use critical thinking, therefore, it is important to develop students' critical thinking in all classes including Physics. We summarize various definitions of critical thinking and we describe the survey, where students solve problems whose solution requires critical thinking. We compare students' results to see if they can solve problems without physics content with better successfulness than the problems with physics content and to see how the school attendance impacts its development.

: Safety, efficacy and quality of a therapeutic product is the major concern for the pharmaceutical companies. FDA and PMDA are the main regulatory authorities in USA & JAPAN respectively that ensures the maintenance of these required parameters by forming standard guidelines and process for drug approval. These regulatory authorities’ reviews each step of a pharmaceutical drug product from its discovery phase to marketed product. Dossier plays an important role during the approval process of a drug product, as it allows both applicant and review team members to evaluate the data in an effective manner. A dossier consists of five modules containing informative data of various stages of a drug product but in a brief pattern with folders and subfolders. In the present paper, the authors focus on in-depth review of approval process for new and generic drugs in USA and Japan.

We identified nearly 180 Black women who earned medical degrees prior to the start of the Second World War and found information regarding their family and social connections, premedical and medical educations, and internship experience or lack thereof for many of these women. Through their collective history, we observed large-scale trends, especially regarding the importance of “separatist” medical education and declining medical school attendance among African American women in the 1910s as medicine became an increasingly exclusionary profession. While our research uncovered trends specific to Black women physicians, the implications of our research can be applied far more widely to other historically marginalized scientific practitioners. This research reminds us of the longstanding and shifting presence of Black women in science and medicine, despite the enduring popular belief that white men represent who participates in science, both historically and today.
