In the thermal power plant, various conventional steels are used to manufacture boiler components. Due to high operating temperature of these boilers, these conventional steels are unable to resist hot corrosion. In recent years researchers have used various techniques to resist hot corrosion out of these techniques, thermal spray coating process have gained lot of interest due to the ease of coating, low operating cost, and various other advantages. With these coating processes a thin layer of coating material is developed over steel alloys surface which creates hindrance to penetration of corroding element and hereby reduce corrosion. This paper is an attempt to present a comprehension the study related to hot corrosion of thermal spray coating on boiler steels at high temperatures.

Abstract A review of selected national and international thermal spraying guides and specifications for the preservation of steel and reinforced concrete using thermal spray coating of aluminum, zinc and their alloys is presented. The work program and current status of the US national organizations contributing to and developing test methods and process standards are summarized along with those of ISOATC 107/SC 5. The Secretariat of the ISO/TC 107/SC 5, Thermal Spraying was transferred from AFNOR, France, to ANSI, US, in June 1995. ANSI, in turn, designated AWS to be its delegate in thermal spray matters. The work program of the newly formed SSPC/NACE/AWS Tri-Society Committee on thermal spray coatings for the corrosion protection of steel is summarized.

To synthesize the surface of the metal bodies, a thermal spray coating is used. There is a great need for this new coating technology in today's progressive world where modification of the substrate material is carried out a great deal. Thermal spray covering, electroplating, powder metallurgy and other metallurgical processes are used very quickly in the field of surface modification. We have presented the summary of all different types of thermal spray coating in this review paper and the advantages of high-speed oxy fuel coating. There is a literature review and an experiment was conducted on behalf of that to demonstrate the effect of coating on mild steel plate. Through Robot, we present a proposed optimization of the spraying process in a thermal power plant. We will explore the thermal spraying and oxidation effect on deposited aluminium and bronze in this research work. We present a detailed assessment of the robot kinematics and optimize the generation of the robot trajectory with a focus on the constant relative scanning speed. The results show that the motion behavior of each axis of robot permits to identify the motion problems in the trajectory. This approach enables the generation of robot trajectories in a limited working envelope to be optimised.

C. C. Berndt advanced investigations of mechanical properties of thermal spray coatings under 4-point bending. He found that this investigation method is sensitive to the mechanical properties of thermal spray coatings. This paper contains the detailed investigation results for thermal spray coatings of zirconium dioxide under 4-point bending, i.e. tests of the specimens subjected to spraying at varying conditions and pre-test soaking with the various duration at 1100 °С.It was established how the mechanical properties of thermal spray coatings changed depending on the spraying mode and high temperature soaking. The test results show that the double heat treatment of coatings is more preferable than one-time heat treatment as it make the properties change linearly. It is more easily controllable during operation of the components with thermal spray coating.
