According to the extant literature, the positive roles of learning styles, teaching strategies, need for cognition, and meta-cognition on promotion and enhancing level of academic achievement is irrefutable. This study aims to plan for identifying the impact of mentioned variables on the academic achievement of students in the Educational Centers. The developed research model is based on a review in literature and is a comprehensive model which consists of four independent variables namely learning styles, teaching strategies, need for cognition, and meta-cognition. And one dependent variable that is academic achievement. In order to reach major and minor research objectives, the author develops a survey instrument with a proper standard and introduces a quantitative approach involving the distribution of questionnaires among students implementable in any educational centers. Total collected data can be analyzed through the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) or Structural Equation Modeling via Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) program (SEM-AMOS). In order to answer research questions and testing developed hypotheses of this study, reliability test, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, correlation test, and multiple regression analyses can be run in SPSS and it can be run confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) in AMOS program with two-step strategy proposed by (Anderson and Gerbing 1988). The contribution of this scientific research will be pragmatic for academics in this research era because of the comprehensive research model. Also, this research has an outstanding role in bringing insight and realization for deputy deans, rectorates in the educational centers. Finally, the value of findings will be beneficial for promoting and increasing the level of academic achievement through learning styles, teaching strategies, need for cognition, and meta-cognition.

Attrition is the biggest challenges being faced by the HR managers in today’s competitive environment especially with IT/ITES sectors. The study identifies clarity, career growth and advancement, personal priorities and organizational environment as the vital antecedent factors which impacts employee attrition. Further through multi-group analysis the paper studies the impact of agile environment on the said relationships in low and high agile environment. The study uses exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling for obatinig path linkages. In high agile group all the path linkages were highly significant and the path coefficients were stronger

This study explored and evaluated the dimensions and consequences of esports online spectator demand. In doing so, we identified preliminary dimensions of esports online spectator demand based on semistructured interviews and online open-ended surveys. Findings resulted from the qualitative study were adopted as the foundation to develop the Scale for Esports Spectator Demand (SESD). To validate the SESD and assess the impact of the SESD factors on consumers’ cognitive and behavioral outcomes, a sample of esports online spectators ( N = 1,309) responded to a survey containing the SESD, which was randomly split into two halves, with one half for an exploratory factor analysis and the other half for a confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling analyses. A total of 32 items under eight SESD factors were confirmed. While demand factors including commentary features, player characteristics, event attractiveness, and schedule convenience have been found in traditional sport contexts, chat room, streamer traits, stream quality, and virtual rewards appeared to be unique in esports. All eight SESD factors, excluding schedule convenience, were significantly predictive of one or more of the outcomes associated with esports consumption.

The aim of article is attempt to answer for the question: what effects does globalization have on the individual self-realization and psychological development? In this paper globalization is understood among others as the process of universalizing economic and social rules. Individual effects of this process are varied. Relationship between globalization and psychological condition of man is theoretically describe by the Model of Experience of Globalization (MDG). Based on the original model was constructed Globalization Experience Scale (SDG). This scale can measure the cognitive and affective reaction to globalization. Globalization Experience Scale (SDG) have a 14 statements which measure the influence of globalization on the three theoretical dimensions of personality: 1) Self-realization and self-creation (development), 2) The psychological safety (safety), 3) The sense of influence on the processes and effects of globalization (influence). Three-factor structure of theoretical model and Scale was confirmed by results of Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Structural equation modeling fit indexes (RMSEA=.024; GFI=.978; AGFI=.956; CFI=.991), Reliability: (Cronbach’s α=.80). The research results indicate that Globalization Experience Scale (SDG) is a useful scale for studying the impact of globalization on the human personality. PurposeThis paper aims to focus on online hospitality platforms in the collaborative consumption environment. In particular, this paper investigates the impact of trust on the obtainers’ intentions to “inquire about accommodations” and to “request a booking” on Airbnb.com.Design/methodology/approachThis paper takes the perspective of a potential renter, respectively, obtainer and adopts Gefen’s (2000) research model, which incorporates familiarity and trust in the e-commerce industry. In this regard, the paper extends the work on two-sided markets of Mittendorf (2016-2017). To verify the modified research model, a survey was conducted, gathering results from over 426 participants of which 255 valid responses from the Millennials generation were obtained. This paper uses covariance-based structural equation modeling to analyze both measurement and structural relationships regarding the interaction framework.FindingsThe results show empirical evidence that both “trust in the intermediary” and “trust in providers” are decisive for the obtainers’ intentions on the online platform. In this regard, this paper advances the understanding of the collaborative consumption mechanisms by adapting trust literature to validate the obtainers’ intentions on contemporary collaborative consumption platforms.Research limitations/implicationsWhile the unit of analysis of prior research comprises the general intention to share, this paper empirically validates a more deliberate decision of user intentions by focusing on the intention to inquire about accommodations (no registration necessary) and the intention to request a booking (registration necessary). However, this study is dependent on one setting and it is still unclear whether the results are generalizable to other collaborative consumption setups.Originality/valueThis paper is in line with the work of Mittendorf (2016-2017), thus, it uses a sophisticated statistical approach to analyze trust in the collaborative consumption environment, such as confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling.

One of the greatest concerns to television program producers is to attract and retain viewers. There have been many studies aiming to predict and examine the determinants of viewers’ preference for television programs, of which the most outstanding is the research on media enjoyment by Nabi and Krcmar. In particular, Nabi and Krcmar proposed the tripartite model of media enjoyment effects on viewing and content-related behavior that comprises of affective reaction, cognitive reaction and behaviour reaction. A more generalized theory is that of Katz et al. on the uses and gratifications. Accordingly, the audience has a collection of needs that come from social and psychological origins and needs to be gratified; all types of mass communication media are only a facility to satisfy those needs. Four general categories of needs are identified, including (1) diversion; (2) personal relationships; (3) personal identity and; (4) surveillance. Later studies have been devoted to clarifying and extending these needs. This research employs the reliability test Cronbach’s Alpha, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the research model and measure the influence of the cognitive and affective factors on the enjoyment and uses of television programs. The final objective of this research is to find the way to influence the viewers’ preference for reality programs/gameshows in Vietnam.

Job satisfaction, leadership, meeting effectiveness, and organizational commitment have become the subjects of numerous research papers, due mainly to their vital roles in the development of organizations. We based our research on previous studies related to leadership, meeting effectiveness, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment and an empirical study. The authors emphasize the influence of leadership on meeting effectiveness and the impact of the mediating role of job satisfaction on the relationship between meeting effectiveness and organizational commitment, increasing more employees’ commitment to their organizations. Our research aims to show whether leadership has a positive effect on meeting effectiveness, how meeting effectiveness affects organizational commitment, and to what extent job satisfaction impacts this relationship. We used data collected in our analysis and created a questionnaire that was distributed to 249 respondents working at 34 Vietnamese organizations from a variety of sectors such as tax, banking, health service, airlines, education, and business. Using non-probability sampling with the calculation of exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling, the authors found that leadership significantly affects meeting effectiveness, and meeting effectiveness positively influences organizational commitment with the mediation of job satisfaction.

Background Schools face pressure to promote equitable student outcomes as the achievement gap continues to persist. The authors examine different ways in which social capital has been conceptualized as well as prior theory and research on its formation and consequences. While some theoretical and empirical work conceptualizes social capital as a mechanism for prosocial outcomes, other scholars address it as an apparatus of social status. Purpose This study was conducted to advance knowledge about (a) the validity of measuring social capital as an organizational construct, (b) the equity of social capital distribution in schools, and (c) the relationship between school social capital and academic achievement. Research Design In this paper, the authors examine these possibilities using data collected from 96 Midwestern high schools. Confirmatory factor analysis, hierarchical linear modeling, and structural equation modeling were employed to depict the relationships among social capital, socioeconomic status, and academic achievement in schools. Findings/Results The authors found that variance in social capital was significantly related to school membership and that confirmatory factor analysis supported the construction of a school social capital measure. Moreover, more than half of the variance in social capital is unrelated to social class, and social capital is a positive predictor of academic achievement. Conclusions/Recommendations Because of its positive relation to achievement, investments in the development of social capital may be worthwhile. Interventions designed to develop social capital in schools should be guided by efforts to strengthen access to school-based resources in poor and low achieving schools.

The purpose of this article is to investigate the use of harsh disciplinary methods by parents as corrective techniques for their children, and the resulting behavioral aspects in the affected children. Sociodemographic predictors are tested for estimating the impact of harsh disciplining by parents. A primary survey of a sample of 1,751 children 10 to 12 years of age across 12 provinces of Assiut Governorate in Egypt is considered. The analysis is carried out using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Structural equation modeling is used for testing the significance of the seven predictors. The findings show that harsh disciplining is significantly affected by the age, education level, income level, and marital status of parents. Harsh disciplining is evident for different dimensions: “beating for discipline,” “beating while children grow up,” “beating with a stick can discipline children,” and “children should not be listened to.” Some parents believe that beating will help in correcting the behavior of their children and in instilling desirable attitudes in them. This approach has ill effects, but it can only be corrected by addressing the poor economic conditions and education of the parents.

This study is focused on communications that come from consumer-to-consumer (C2C) ecommerce relationships. This topic is directly associated with the electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) phenomenon. eWOM is related to the set of positive or negative opinions made by potential, actual, or former customers about a seller. The present study proposes a structural equation modeling with partial least squares (PLS-SEM) research model to analyze consumers’ opinions impact on attitude toward purchasing. This model is based on the Information Adoption Model (IAM) in combination with an ecommerce satisfaction perspective, comprising five constructs: (1) service quality, (2) ecommerce satisfaction, (3) argument quality, (4) source credibility and (5) purchase intention. The model was tested by applying the Smart Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS) software for which 116 effective data from customers of the Taobao C2C platform were used. The findings reveal that all of the defined relationships were supported, confirming the positive impact of all the proposed constructs on the purchase intention. In this respect, the findings suggest that C2C platforms should strengthen the analyzed connections to grow the business and to promote transactions. Finally, implications and limitations related to the explanatory capacity and the sample are identified.

Composite reliability, or coefficient omega, can be estimated using structural equation modeling. Composite reliability is usually estimated under the basic independent clusters model of confirmatory factor analysis (ICM-CFA). However, due to the existence of cross-loadings, the model fit of the exploratory structural equation model (ESEM) is often found to be substantially better than that of ICM-CFA. The present study first illustrated the method used to estimate composite reliability under ESEM and then compared the difference between ESEM and ICM-CFA in terms of composite reliability estimation under various indicators per factor, target factor loadings, cross-loadings, and sample sizes. The results showed no apparent difference in using ESEM or ICM-CFA for estimating composite reliability, and the rotation type did not affect the composite reliability estimates generated by ESEM. An empirical example was given as further proof of the results of the simulation studies. Based on the present study, we suggest that if the model fit of ESEM (regardless of the utilized rotation criteria) is acceptable but that of ICM-CFA is not, the composite reliability estimates based on the above two models should be similar. If the target factor loadings are relatively small, researchers should increase the number of indicators per factor or increase the sample size.
