Reliability and validity of Family Caregiver Quality of Life Scale in heart failure

Abstract Background Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) liver depression infertility quality of life scale is developed to provide a scientific and reliable tool for TCM treatment and intervention in the treatment of liver depression patients with infertility, as well as basis and assistance for clinical decision-making.Methods Literature research method: Through the retrieval of Chinese knowledge network (CNKI), Wanfang (WANFANG), Vip (VIP), Springer, PubMed database of existing Chinese life quality scale and infertility dedicated quality of life scale, an entry pool is built with symptoms, emotional state, social function state and satisfaction as dimensions. Using the Delphi method to screen the entries. Screening entries according to the results of expert review, and evaluating the positive degree coefficient, authority degree and coordination coefficient by the experts. Using the clinical questionnaire method to screen the entries further. To form the Chinese medicine liver depression infertility life of quality scale. Scale evaluation: the reliability and validity of the scale were evaluated based on the results of the clinical questionnaire. Results After two rounds of Delphi method, there are 33 entries remained. The clinical questionnaire rescreened entries, formed the traditional Chinese medicine liver depression infertility quality of life scale containing 4 dimensions of symptoms, emotional states, social function states and satisfaction, with total of 29 entries and VAS score scale. Evaluation results: the Kronbach alpha coefficients performed well in total and each aspect. The validity of the scale: the structural efficiency evaluation results are in good agreement with the scale structure envisioned at the time of design. The relationship between the quality of life scale and the standard scale (FertiQoL International2008) showed a high absolute value.Conclusion In this study, the quality of life scale of Chinese medicine liver depression type infertility was developed by literature research, Delphi method and clinical questionnaire, with good reliability and validity of the scale evaluated. It could be used as a tool for efficacy judgment tool or quality of life evaluation in Chinese medicine treatment or intervention for patients with liver depression infertility.

Abstract The Beach Center Family Quality of Life Scale is an internationally validated instrument for measuring family outcomes. To revise the scale for better alignment with the Family Quality of Life theory, the authors excluded non-outcome items in this revision. In this study, we examined reliability and validity of the revised scale (i.e., the FQoL Scale-21) and its scores for Taiwanese families of children and youth with intellectual disability and developmental delay (age 0–18). Results from 400 Taiwanese respondents suggested that the FQoL Scale-21 has the potential to be used as an indicator of positive outcomes in intervention evaluation, policy making, and service delivery.

Abstract. Relapse is a state of recurrence and worsening symptom experienced by patient. Acceptance and quality of life of caregivers can affect their attitude toward patient and might be affecting the possibility of schizophrenia relapse. This study intended to seek the correlation between caregiver’s acceptance and quality of life with relapse of schizophrenia outpatient in Surakarta Regional Psychiatric Hospital that involved 35 caregivers with incidental sampling technique. The measurement used on this study are BPRS for assessing schizophrenia relapse (α = 0,908), Caregiver Acceptance Scale (α = 0,934), and Caregiver Quality of Life Scale (α = 0,960). This study used multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the output. Based on the data showed that the level of acceptance and quality of life perceived by caregivers didn’t affect the likelihood of relapse of schizophrenia outpatient in Surakarta Regional Psychiatric Hospital.Keywords: Acceptance, Caregiver, Schizophrenia Relapse, Quality of LifeAbstrak. Relapse merupakan keadaan muncul kembali dan bertambah parah simptom yang dialami oleh pasien skizofrenia. Penerimaan dan kualitas hidup dari caregiver dapat mempengaruhi sikapnya dalam merawat pasien sehingga mungkin mempengaruhi kemungkinan terjadinya relapse. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penerimaan dan kualitas hidup caregiver dengan relapse pada pasien rawat jalan skizofrenia di RSJ Daerah Surakarta yang melibatkan 35 caregiver dengan teknik incidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Skala Relapse Skizofrenia (α = 0,908), Skala Penerimaan Caregiver (α = 0,934), dan Skala Kualitas Hidup Caregiver (α = 0,960). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji regresi linear berganda. Berdasarkan hasil data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkatan penerimaan dan kualitas hidup dari caregiver tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap munculnya relapse pada pasien rawat jalan skizofrenia di RSJ Daerah Surakarta.Kata Kunci: Caregiver, Kualitas Hidup, Penerimaan, Relapse Skizofrenia
