It is known that piezoelectric material shunted with external circuits can convert mechanical energy to electrical energy, which is so called piezoelectric shunt damping technology. In this paper, a piezoelectric stacks ring (PSR) is designed for vibration control of beams and rotor systems. A relative simple electromechanical model of an Euler Bernoulli beam supported by two piezoelectric stacks shunted with resonant RL circuits is established. The equation of motion of such simplified system has been derived using Hamilton’s principle. A more realistic FEA model is developed. The numerical analysis is carried out using COMSOL® and the simulation results show a significant reduction of vibration amplitude at the specific natural frequencies. Using finite element method, the influence of circuit parameters on lateral vibration control is discussed. A preliminary experiment of a prototype PSR verifies the PSR’s vibration reduction effect.

In this paper, the design and application of smart wheelchair and charging station for disabled citizen is realized. The first stage of the paper is to make the wheelchair used by our disabled citizens able to access smart home technology via the vehicle via touch screen. The ability of citizens with disabilities to call with direct access via touch screen is also in the wheelchair designed. Thanks to the touch screen placed on the vehicle, disabled citizens are provided with the control of smart automation to control many objects such as curtains and doors in the home. In the second part of the paper, a solar powered charging station is designed and installed in order to charge battery powered wheelchairs. In the charging station made a special card reader system and has the charger to charge the card with disabilities to actively and means are provided.

Global warming has led to lower levels of the water basins. Groundwater levels also decrease. Sometimes they fall so much so that submersible pumps in the wells remain almost dry and even in short work cycles get damaged. Their repairs are very expensive and labour intensive. An algorithm for management and protection of submersible pump is proposed in the paper. It uses 5 level sensors. It allows full utilization of the wells capacity and protects the pump motors from premature wear due to frequent switching on and off.
