A new species of the genus Pukupuku Muramoto, 2006 is described from the state of Arunachal Pradesh (Northeast India): Pukupuku arunachalensis sp. nov. Relevant diagnostic characters are illustrated and compared with closely related species, Pukupuku curtus (Arrow, 1919) and Pukupuku katsurai (Muramoto, 2002). The distribution of the new species is mapped.

A New Species

A new species, Muscari fatmacereniae Eker sp. nov. (Asparagaceae), is described from Turkey. The diagnostic characters, description, detailed illustration, original photographs and geographical distribution of the new species are given. The conservation assessment, observations and taxonomic comments on the new species are also presented. The new species is compared with the closely related species M. armeniacum and M. botryoides.

Zingiber salarkhanii Rahman et Yusuf, belonging to the family Zingiberaceae, is described and illustrated from Bangladesh as a new species. It was collected from six different localities of hilly forests in Chittagong, Khagrachari and Moulvi Bazar districts. Eburia (Eburia) angeldiazi sp. nov. is described from Michoacán, Mexico. Distinguishing characters from closely related species are given and discussed. According to the results of our research, E. (E.) angeldiazi sp. nov. is distributed in the state of Michoacán, Mexico whereas E. (E.) macrotaenia Bates, 1880 occurs in the state of Chiapas, Mexico as well as Guatemala and El Salvador.

A New Species

A new species of Petalomium Cross 1965 (Acari: Heterostigmatina: Neopygmephoridae) is described. This mite was found associated (phoresy) with workers of an ant, Neoponera verenae (Forel 1922) (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), in several localities in the state of Bahia, Northeastern Brazil. This is the first record of the genus in South America. A closely related species, Petalomium gottrauxi Mahunka 1977, is redescribed based on the paratype and specimens from Crimea. New recorded morphological structures are described and discussed.

A New Species

A new species of Abarema from Brazil is described and illustrated. The new species is endemic to Morro do Chapéu, Chapada Diamantina, in the state of Bahia. Abarema diamantina shares morphological affinities with A. cochliacarpos by having a capitate raceme, strongly lenticelate branches, and median-basal pleurogram. However, there are remarkable vegetative and reproductive morphological characters which distinguish the two taxa. Here a description of the new species and illustrations are presented; a distribution map, and comments highlighting the differences between the closely related species are discussed.

In this study, Fritillaria arsusiana (Liliaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Hatay province in southern Anatolia, Turkey. It is related to F. amana and F. hermonis by habitus features and broadly campanulate flowers, but differs mainly by its bulb shape and size, smaller leaf and flower features, and flower colour. It has also been morphologically compared with F. wendelboi, F. pinardii, and F. latakiensis. The detailed description, diagnostic characters, original photographs, geographical distribution, habitat and phenology, etymology, conservation status, and identification key of the new and the related species are presented in this study. IUCN conservation status of F. arsusiana is suggested as Critically Endangered (CR).

A New Species

A new species of Trogia (Marasmiaceae, Basidiomycota) is described from West Bengal, India. Analysis of the molecular sequence (nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer region) data suggests that T. benghalesis is phylogenetically distinct from its closely related species. Comprehensive description based on macro- and microscopic characters, photographs and comparisons with morphologically similar and phylogenetically related species are provided.

A New Species

Dendrobium mizanii, a new species to science belonging to Dendrobium Sect. Calcarifera was discovered in a summit region of a disturbed montane forest in Setiu, Terengganu, and named after His Majesty Sultan of Terengganu, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin. A description, illustration, field and comparison with the closely related species D. crocatum from Peninsular Malaysia and D. doloissumbinii from Borneo are provided here.
