Nisitrus Saussure, 1878 is a diurnal and monophyletic group of eneopterine crickets found in parts of Southeast Asia. Species often have vivid colourations which make them charismatic photograph subjects among macro photographers. However, their taxonomy has not been revised since their original descriptions, whereas there are also species awaiting to be discovered and described. A synoptic revision is therefore needed prior to studying the phylogenetic relationships of the genus, and before undertaking more precise studies on biogeography and evolution of traits. By holistically incorporating information about general morphology, male and female genitalia, and bioacoustics, we revise the taxonomy of these crickets and recognise 10 valid species of Nisitrus. Five new species are described: N. crucius Robillard & Tan sp. nov. from Borneo; N. danum Robillard & Tan sp. nov. from Borneo; N. hughtani Robillard & Tan sp. nov. from Sumatra; N. malaya Robillard & Tan sp. nov. from Malay Peninsula; and N. rindu Robillard & Tan sp. nov. from Borneo. We redescribe N. brunnerianus and N. insignis; describe the calls of N. malaya sp. nov., N. musicus and N. vittatus. We consider N. sumatrensis as a junior synonym of N. insignis; and N. marginata as a junior synonym of N. vittatus. Nisitrus hyalinus requires further revision. We also consider N. maculosus as a dubious name.

The genus Paraplaneta Warren, 1895, until recently treated as a junior synonym of Cataclysme Hübner [1825], is revised. Both genera are members of the tribe Cataclysmini (Herbulot, 1962–63). As a whole, eight species of Paraplaneta are recognized from Himalaya region (India, Pakistan) and China, including four new species: P. anthracica, P. griseobrunnea, P. subfasciata (from China), and P. hreblayi (from Pakistan), described herein. A lectotype for Cataclysme conturbata sternecki Prout, 1938 is designated. Descriptions, diagnoses and illustrations of antennae, wing venation and male and female genitalia of most species are given. The tribal placement of Paraplaneta and related genera within the Cataclysmini is discussed.

Type material of the described species of Ascopus Marshall, 1951, Oreosecus Marshall, 1950, Perarogula Hoffmann, 1963 and Rhadinocopes Hustache, 1931 was examined and their taxonomic status is discussed. Oreosecus Marshall, 1950 and Rhadinocopes Hustache, 1931 are proposed as junior synonyms of Tapinomorphus Hartmann, 1904, Perarogula Hoffmann, 1963 is proposed as a junior synonym of Ascopus Marshall, 1951. Rhadinocopes curvipes Hustache, 1931, R. echinatus Marshall, 1951 and Perarogula lamottei Hoffmann, 1963 are transferred as valid species to the genus Ascopus, Rhadinocopes alticola Hustache, 1939, R. orientalis Hustache, 1931 and Oreosecus porculus Marshall, 1950 are transferred as valid species to the genus Tapinomorphus. Lectotypes of Rhadinocopes orientalis Hustache, 1931 and Rhadinocopes alticola Hustache, 1939 are designated. Ascopus girardi sp. nov. from Guinea, Mt. Nimba, is described and compared with all other species of the genus. Male and female genitalia of Ascopus are described and illustrated for the first time. A key to Ascopus species is presented.

The Barsine zebrina species-complex is revised. Three new species, Barsine subzebrina Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (Nepal, NE India, N Myanmar), Barsine bucseki Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (Malay Peninsula) and Barsine navneetsinghi Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. (NE India and N Myanmar) are described. A new combination is established: Barsine zebrina (Moore, 1878), comb. nov. Adult, male and female genitalia are illustrated.

Japanese species of the genus Zeugophora Kunze, 1818 (Coleoptera, Megalopodidae, Zeugophorinae) are revised. In this publication, Zeugophora annulata (Baly, 1873), Z. unifasciata (Jacoby, 1885), Z. hozumii Chûjô, 1953, Z. japonica Chûjô, 1951, Z. varipes (Jacoby, 1885), Z. chujoi Ohno, 1961, Z. flavonotata (Chûjô, 1935), and Z. gracilis unicolor Chûjô, 1958 are redescribed, with detailed illustrations of the male and female genitalia. Additionally, Z. nigricollis (Jacoby, 1885) is restored to a valid species from junior synonymy with Z. bicolor (Kraatz, 1879), and Z. cupka sp. nov., is described as a new species.

Two new species of Cardiodactylus crickets are described from unsuspected places in Southeast Asia: C. singapura n. sp., from within the island-city of Singapore, and C. thailandia n. sp. from Thailand. Descriptions focus on male and female genitalia, forewing venation and coloration. Data are provided for C. singapura n. sp. fine-scaled habitat and calling song. Consequences in terms of distribution of the genus and conservation are discussed.

The Elachista bedellella Sircom complex is diagnosed and its taxonomy is revised. The female genitalia, when known, are found to be of good diagnostic value in defining species. In the male genitalia there are subtle, yet decipherable interspecific differences in the shape of the juxta and the cornutus that correlate with differences in the outer appearance of different populations. As a result, eight species are recognised, including the following new species: Elachista antonia sp. n. from Greece (Crete), E. slivenica sp. n. from Bulgaria, E. dorinda sp. n. from Turkey, E. versicolora sp. n. from Russia (Transbaikalia) and E. camilla sp. n. from Russia (Kuray). The identity of E. lugdunensis Frey is clarified and it is considered a valid species, and E. coeneni Traugott-Olsen, 1985 is confirmed to be a junior synonym of it. E. bedellella, E. lugdunensis and E. titanella Kaila & Jalava, 1994 (stat. n.) are diagnosed and illustrated.

The Holarctic genus Agonochaetia is reviewed and a new species, Agonochaetia shawinigan Landry, sp. nov. is described from Québec, Canada. In addition, a new glandiductor-bearing genus and species, Canarischema fuerteventura Karsholt, gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from the Canary Islands. Comparative diagnoses, a key to species, illustrations of external aspect, male and female genitalia are provided for all species. Most species of Agonochaetia are rarely collected and known only from their types or from very few specimens. DNA barcodes are provided for four of the species from which DNA was recovered. Analysis of DNA barcodes suggests that Agonochaetia may be paraphyletic. Phylogenetic relationships to other Gnorimoschemini genera bearing a pair of glandiductors above the phallus are discussed.

The African shieldbug genus Afrius Stål, 1870 is revised. Cantheconidea migratoria Distant, 1913 and A. williamsi Miller, 1952 are proposed as junior synonyms of A. (Subafrius) flavirostrum (Signoret, 1861) whereas Canthecona marmorata Dallas, 1851, Canthecona annulipes Dallas, 1851 and A. rubromarginatus Bergroth, 1903 are proposed as junior synonyms of A. (Afrius) purpureus (Westwood, 1837) based on the general morphology and genitalia of the species. The three valid species, viz. A. (Subafrius) flavirostrum, A. (Afrius) kolleri Schouteden, 1911 and A. (Afrius) purpureus, are redescribed with details of male and female genitalia morphology, and a lectotype is designated for A. (Afrius) kolleri. A key to identify the species as well as an update of the geographical distribution for each species are provided, including new records for A. (Afrius) purpureus.

AbstractA revision of Eneopterinae crickets from the Neotropical region is achieved in a cladistic perspective using for the first time characters of male and female genitalia and male forewing venation. Each genus is redefined and its monophyly assessed with reference to all known Eneopterinae genera. 6 new species are described (Eneoptera gracilis, E. nigripedis, Ligypterus belmontensis, L. linharensis, L. pernambucensis and Ponca hebardi) and an identification key is proposed for both males and females. Phylogenetic relationships are discussed and distributions characterised.

In the first half of the 20th century, four Swedish expeditions to Indochina contributed significantly to the knowledge on the herpetofauna of mainland Southeast Asia. The collected material was examined by L. G. Andersson in Stockholm, resulting in the description of seven new species and forms of amphibians and reptiles from Vietnam and Thailand. However, the taxonomic status of three enigmatic frog species described by Andersson, namely Rana scutigera, Oxyglossus laevis var. vittata, and Microhyla fusca, remained doubtful. All three taxa are only known from their type specimens and their short original descriptions. Though subsequent studies have doubted their validity or systematic assignment, they have been treated as valid species until today. We have examined the external morphology and coloration of the type specimens, what led to a taxonomic reallocation of these three species. We demonstrate that Rana scutigera Andersson, 1916 is a junior synonym of Polypedates megacephalus Hallowell, 1861, Oxyglossus laevis var. vittata Andersson, 1942 is synonymized with Occidozyga martensii (Peters, 1967), and Microhyla fusca Andersson, 1942 represents a junior synonym of Microhyla butleri Boulenger, 1900.
