This chapter traces the life of architectural objects at the Canadian Centre of Architecture (CCA) and the conservation lab, which creates the impression of being the most isolated place at the CCA. It describes the objects on trial, experiments in progress, protocols, tests results, a giant microscope, and the lingering smell of unknown chemicals inside the conservation lab. It also emphasizes how objects in the conservation lab are treated like patients in need of special care as the objects get a full health and security check. The chapter analyses reports of each object's experiences and reactions, which allow the objects to be inspected during an exhibition to ensure that they have not changed. It reviews the work of conservators Karen Potje and David Stevenson in order to follow how the affected objects are treated amidst the fear of time and hazards of climates and environments.

A method is described in an attempt to make medical records suitable for epidemiologigri: purposes. Every case of a disease is recorded on an appropriate punched card with the object of working towards a general description of a disease through the collation of several cases of the same diagnosis. This punched card represents a very great condensation of the original record. Special care has been applied to state as precisely as possible the time variable, particularly as far as its origin and unit of measure are concerned, in order to demonstrate the existence of causal relations between diseases. Such cards are also intended to make easier statistical studies in clinical pathology, in evaluation of new laboratory techniques, and in therapeutical trials.

The COVID 19 outbreak has been declared a pandemic by the world health organisation. The healthcare sector was overburdened and overstretched with the number of patient increasing and requiring health services. The worst-hit population always are the people with special needs, whether it is children, pregnant females or the geriatric population. The need for the emergency kind of health services was so inflated that the other special population which required them equally as those patients with the COVID 19 suffered a lot. Dentistry was not an exception, and even that is also one of the important components of the health care delivery system and people requiring oral health care needs were also more. Those undergoing dental treatments would not have completed the treatment, and this would have resulted in various complications. In this situation, some dental emergency guidelines have been released by Centres for Disease Control (CDC) for the urgent dental care those requiring special care dentistry during the COVID 19 pandemic. Children with special care needs were considered more vulnerable to oral diseases; hence priority should have been given to them for dental treatments moreover in the future also more aggressive preventive measures should be taken in order to maintain oral hygiene and prevent many oral diseases. Guardians/caregivers should be made aware and motivated to maintain the oral health of children with special health care needs. This review mainly focuses on the prevention and management of oral diseases in children's with special care needs.

Abstract Ultra-short pulse laser ablation is applied to IC backside sample preparation. It is contact-less, non-thermal, precise and can ablate the various types of material present in IC packages. This study concerns the optimization of ultra-short pulse laser ablation for silicon thinning. Uncontrolled silicon roughness and poor uniformity of the laser thinned cavity needed to be tackled. Special care is taken to minimize the silicon RMS roughness to less than 1µm. Application to sample preparation of 256Mbit devices is presented.

There are various arguments for the metaphysical impossibility of time travel, e.g. it’s impossible because objects could then be in two places at once, or it’s impossible because some objects could bring about their own existence. This book argues that no such argument is sound and that time travel is metaphysically possible. The main focus is on the Grandfather Paradox: if someone could go back in time, they could (impossibly!) kill their own grandfather before he met their grandmother, thus time travel is impossible. This book argues that, in such a case, the time traveller would have the ability to do the impossible (so they could kill their grandfather) even though those impossibilities will never come about (so they won’t kill their grandfather). The remainder of the book explores the ramifications of this view, discussing issues in probability and decision theory. It ends by laying out the dangers of time travel and why, even though no time machines currently exist, we should pay extra special care to ensure that nothing, no matter how small or microscopic, ever travels in time.
