Congenital renal artery aneurysm is uncommon. Moreover, renal artery aneurysm concomitant with a congenital renal arteriovenous fistula is extremely rare. Transarterial embolization is the first-line treatment for these conditions. We report a case of a patient with congenital renal artery aneurysm concomitant with a congenital renal arteriovenous fistula of the upper polar left renal artery which was successfully treated by transarterial embolization with coil, glue, and Amplatzer vascular plug.

Conventional color Doppler ultrasonography of main renal artery is a valuable non invasive tool in screening and diagnosing patients with renal artery stenosis. However, this technique suffer a set back from many limitations. Color Doppler ultrasonography examination of intrarenal branch arteries using the parameters like, acceleration time, acceleration time ratio, and acceleration index with additional sampling from upper and lower pole of kidney has shown good results in diagnosis of renal artery stenosis. We successfully diagnosed accessory renal artery stenosis in two patients using intrarenal Doppler technique. We conclude, intra renal Color Doppler ultrasonography with additional sampling from upper and lower pole is most accurate method for diagnosis of significant RAS including accessory RAS. Background: Retrobulbar hemodynamic alterations can occur during hemodialysis sessions, and patients with chronic renal failure may experience visual problems. Purpose: To evaluate the effect of single-session hemodialysis on retrobulbar vessel hemodynamics by color Doppler ultrasonography. Material and Methods: Thirty-five patients were included in the study. Retrobulbar blood flows were examined before and after dialysis sessions. Doppler spectral patterns of retrobulbar blood flow were evaluated. The t test for paired samples and the Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-rank test were used for comparing the flow values before and after dialysis. Results: Systolic and diastolic blood flow velocities of the ophthalmic artery, central retinal artery, central retinal vein, nasal posterior ciliary artery, and temporal posterior ciliary artery were found to be decreased bilaterally after hemodialysis sessions. No significant change was observed in resistivity index values after hemodialysis sessions. Conclusion: Our findings reveal that retrobulbar circulation was disturbed after a single hemodialysis session.

Abstract Background The study was to investigate the role of color Doppler ultrasonography in the evaluation of the effect of Rex-bypass shunt on the cavernous transformation of the portal vein (CTPV) in children. Methods Fifty children with symptomatic extrahepatic portal hypertension who received Rex-bypass shunt were retrospectively reviewed, and they were diagnosed with CTPV by ultrasonography. The clinical characteristics were analyzed before and after operation. Results Forty-five patients received color Doppler ultrasonography at 6 months after surgery, and good patency in the bypass vessels was displayed. The platelet count significantly increased (P < 0.001) and the esophagogastric varices were improved significantly (p < 0.001). The patency of bypass vessels on color Doppler ultrasonography was consistent with the changes in the platelet count and the degree of esophagogastric varices on gastroscopy before and after operation. The diameter of bypass vessels at 6 months was slightly larger than that at 7 days after operation, and there was no significant difference in blood flow velocity between two time points (P = 0.507). Conclusions Color Doppler ultrasonography can display the patency, diameter, and flow velocity of bypass vessels. It plays an important role in evaluating the effect of Rex-bypass shunt on the CTPV.
