AbstractWe introduce a generalization of the notion of a negligible morphism and study the associated tensor ideals and thick ideals. These ideals are defined by considering deformations of a given monoidal category $${\mathcal {C}}$$ C over a local ring R. If the maximal ideal of R is generated by a single element, we show that any thick ideal of $${\mathcal {C}}$$ C admits an explicitly given modified trace function. As examples we consider various Deligne categories and the categories of tilting modules for a quantum group at a root of unity and for a semisimple, simply connected algebraic group in prime characteristic. We prove an elementary geometric description of the thick ideals in quantum type A and propose a similar one in the modular case.

In this paper, a finite-dimensional Lie superalgebra K n , m over a field of prime characteristic is constructed. Then, we study some properties of K n , m . Moreover, we prove that K n , m is an extension of a simple Lie superalgebra, and if m = n − 1 , then it is isomorphic to a subalgebra of a restricted Lie superalgebra.

Abstract Let R be a ring with identity of characteristic two and G a nontrivial torsion group. We show that if the units in the group ring $RG$ are all trivial, then G must be cyclic of order two or three. We also consider the case where R is a commutative ring with identity of odd prime characteristic and G is a nontrivial locally finite group. We show that in this case, if the units in $RG$ are all trivial, then G must be cyclic of order two. These results improve on a result of Herman et al. [‘Trivial units for group rings with G-adapted coefficient rings’, Canad. Math. Bull.48(1) (2005), 80–89].

Abstract We connect the theorems of Rentschler [18] and Dixmier [10] on locally nilpotent derivations and automorphisms of the polynomial ring A 0 and of the Weyl algebra A 1, both over a field of characteristic zero, by establishing the same type of results for the family of algebras A h = 〈 x , y | y x − x y = h ( x ) 〉 , {A_h} = \left\langle {x,y|yx - xy = h\left( x \right)} \right\rangle , , where h is an arbitrary polynomial in x. In the second part of the paper we consider a field 𝔽 of prime characteristic and study 𝔽[t]-comodule algebra structures on Ah . We also compute the Makar-Limanov invariant of absolute constants of Ah over a field of arbitrary characteristic and show how this subalgebra determines the automorphism group of Ah .

Abstract In this note, we compute the centers of the categories of tilting modules for G = SL2 in prime characteristic, of tilting modules for the corresponding quantum group at a complex root of unity, and of projective G g T-modules when g = 1, 2.

In 2014, Wolfgang Rump showed that there exists a correspondence between left nilpotent right [Formula: see text]-braces and pre-Lie algebras. This correspondence, established using a geometric approach related to flat affine manifolds and affine torsors, works locally. In this paper, we explain Rump’s correspondence using only algebraic formulae. An algebraic interpretation of the correspondence works for fields of sufficiently large prime characteristic as well as for fields of characteristic zero.
