Publications issued October 2020 through September 2021 by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) are listed. The publications are grouped according to the technical laboratories or technical program for which they were prepared. Procedures for obtaining ERDC reports are included in the Preface.

Preface

Because of the travel restrictions between China and other countries of our keynote speaker, the 9th annual 2021 International Conference on Material Science and Environmental Engineering [MSEE2021] was held on November 27th, 2021 (Virtual Conference). The conference was held via Tencent Meeting Application. MSEE2021 aims to bring researchers, engineers, and students to the areas of Material Science and Environmental Engineering. MSEE2021 features unique mixed topics of Material Science and Advanced Materials, Material Engineering and Application, Environmental Science and Engineering and Mechanical Design and Technology. We received over 197 submissions from various parts of the world. The Technical Program Committee worked very hard to have all manuscripts reviewed before the review deadline. All the accepted papers have been submitted to strict peer-review, and selected based on originality, significance and clarity for the purpose of the conference. The conference program is extremely profound and featuring high-impact presentations of selected papers and additional late-breaking contributions. We sincerely hope that the conference would not only show the participants a broad overview of the latest research results on related fields, but also provide them with a significant platform for academic connection and exchange. There are two keynote speakers and four invited sessions. The keynote speakers are internationally recognized leading experts in their research fields, who have demonstrated outstanding proficiency and have achieved distinction in their profession. The proceedings would be published by IOP Journal of Physics Conference Series. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the members of Technical Program Committee and organizers for their enthusiasm, time, and expertise. Our deep thanks also go to many volunteers and staffs for the long hours and hard work they have generously given to MSEE2021. Last but not least, we would like to thank all the authors, speaker and participants for their great contributions to the success of MSEE2021. The 11th Annual International Conference 2021 on Environmental and Life Sciences Universitas Syiah Kuala “Connecting the World through Innovation and Sustainable Development” Banda Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia September 29-30, 2021 The AIC 2021 is organized by the Institute of Research and Community Services (LPPM), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), Banda Aceh, Indonesia, located in Banda Aceh. This city had amazingly recovered post Tsunami disaster in 2004. Banda Aceh is widely known as one of the most cultural and historically rich cities in Indonesia. It offers you an enjoyable stay with its interesting culture, tourism places, and unforgettable culinary options. This year, just like the previous year, the conference was held virtually through zoom meeting. Despite the online mode, the conference allowed all presenters to promote their current research and innovations through discussion, sharing ideas and best practices among researchers and academics under the theme of “strengthening the dissemination of research and innovation to enhance the transfer of knowledge in the fourth industrial revolution.” The keynote speakers presented at this year conference were Prof. A. Min Tjoa, the Vienna University of Technology (Austria), Prof. Dr. Michele Notari; University of Teacher Education (Switzerland); Prof. Siti Azizah Mohd Nor., University Terengganu (Malaysia), and the invited speakers were Dr. Hawis Maduppa, B.Sc., M.Sc., Institut Pertanian Bogor (Indonesia); Prof. Amirul Mukminin, S.Pd., M.Sc.Ed., Ph.D., Universitas Jambi (Indonesia) and Associate Prof. Dr. Muhammad Roil Bilad, Faculty of Integrated Technologies, University of Brunei Darussalam (Brunei Darussalam). Two keynote speakers and three invited speakers were presented on the first day, and one keynote speaker was presented on the second day. All keynote and invited presentations were run smoothly despite the time difference between Aceh, Indonesia, and the keynote and invited speakers’ time zone. The online oral presentation sessions also run well with the excellent teamwork between the host, moderators, and operators. I would like to express our thanks to Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech., the Head of Institute for Research and Public Services of Universitas Syiah Kuala; Dr. Dra. The International Conference on Materials Chemistry and Environmental Engineering (CONF-MCEE 2021) The International Conference on Materials Chemistry and Environmental Engineering (CONF-MCEE 2021) is a leading conference, hosted by Eliwise Academy annually. It encourages communication and collaboration, hoping to provide an international platform for its participants to present, share, and learn the latest advance and development of materials, chemistry, and environmental engineering. Academics, researchers, and students from across the world are all welcomed to exchange findings and ideas to draw further inspirations in these research fields. It’s a great opportunity to deepen your understanding in the related topics. This volume contains the papers presented at the International Conference on Materials Chemistry and Environmental Engineering (CONF-MCEE 2021), held during November 11-16, 2021. Under the influence of COVID-19, the on-site conference was regretfully cancelled and CONF-MCEE was held online. For the safety concern of all participants, we decided to hold a virtual conference which is also effective and convenient for academic exchange and communication. Everyone interested in this field were welcomed to join the online conference on our YouTube channel and to give comments and raise questions to the speeches and presentations. We are hoping the pandemic to soon come to an end and we could see each other next year. CONF-MCEE 2021 received 179 submissions in the area of materials science and engineering, chemical science and technology, and environmental engineering. Each of the 179 submissions was reviewed by at least two Program Committee members. The committee decided to accept 64 papers that are included in these proceedings. We would like to thank the Program Committee members and external reviewers for their hard work in reviewing and selecting papers. Hopefully, all participants and other interested readers can benefit scientifically from the proceedings and find it rewarding in the process.
