Editorial Introduction - GROUP 2022 Second Wave

For over a quarter century, GROUP has offered a premier yet intimate and welcoming venue for agenda-setting, diverse research. Although the traditional focus of the conference is on supporting group work, it has expanded to include research from computer-supported cooperative work, sociotechnical studies, practice-centered computing, human-computer interaction, computersupported collaborative learning, participatory technology design, and other related areas. The work presented in this issue embodies that interdisciplinary ethos. Papers in this issue cover a wide range topics, from human-AI collaboration, to collaboration in virtual reality, to perceptions of privacy and security, to the myriad impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The application domains are similarly wide ranging, from health data, to civic engagement, to educational settings, to government provision of social services. Similar to the 2021 issue, this issue also continues the tradition of design fiction at GROUP. This issue of PACM:HCI brings you papers from the planned 2022 ACMConference on Supporting Group Work (GROUP 2022). Typically, the GROUP conference occurs every two years. However, research developments do not necessarily follow conference deadline cycles. Thus, the GROUP conference offers authors the opportunity to submit to multiple waves. The first wave of papers for this conference were published in July 2021 in Volume 5 of PACM:HCI, and papers from this current issue were first submitted in May 2021. Both of these sets of papers published as part of the planned GROUP 2022 conference were authored and reviewed during the COVID-19 pandemic. These papers represent commendable volumes of hard work and resilience, not just from the authors, but also from the reviewers, the program committee, and the conference organizers. Additionally, the pandemic forced a major change to the conference at which these papers will be presented.

The Program Committee warmly welcomes all our distinguished delegates and guests to attend the 2021 2nd International Conference on Physics and Engineering Mathematics (ICPEM 2021), the Online International Conference to be held on November 13th-14th, 2021. ICPEM is an annual event that focuses on the various state-of-the-art advances and innovations in Applied Physics and Engineering Mathematics. It aims to provide a forum for researchers, engineers and academicians to exchange new ideas and application experiences, establish business or research relations and find global partners for future collaboration in the fields of Physics and Engineering Mathematics. The ICPEM 2021 conference received around 141 submissions from all over the world; all submissions went through a rigorous peer review process where each submitted paper was reviewed by at least two experts from the area. Based on the review reports, 69 papers were selected for oral presentation in the conference and included in the Proceedings of 2021 2nd International Conference on Physics and Engineering Mathematics. On behalf of the Program Committee of the 2021 2nd International Conference on Physics and Engineering Mathematics, we would like to thank all the people who have contributed to the conference this year. In particular, we would like to thank all referees for their review work. We would like to thank the keynote speakers and session chairs for spending their valuable time to support the conference. We also would like to thank all the authors for contributing their papers to the conference. Preface

Because of the travel restrictions between China and other countries of our keynote speaker, the 9th annual 2021 International Conference on Material Science and Environmental Engineering [MSEE2021] was held on November 27th, 2021 (Virtual Conference). The conference was held via Tencent Meeting Application. MSEE2021 aims to bring researchers, engineers, and students to the areas of Material Science and Environmental Engineering. MSEE2021 features unique mixed topics of Material Science and Advanced Materials, Material Engineering and Application, Environmental Science and Engineering and Mechanical Design and Technology. We received over 197 submissions from various parts of the world. The Technical Program Committee worked very hard to have all manuscripts reviewed before the review deadline. All the accepted papers have been submitted to strict peer-review, and selected based on originality, significance and clarity for the purpose of the conference. The conference program is extremely profound and featuring high-impact presentations of selected papers and additional late-breaking contributions. We sincerely hope that the conference would not only show the participants a broad overview of the latest research results on related fields, but also provide them with a significant platform for academic connection and exchange. There are two keynote speakers and four invited sessions. The keynote speakers are internationally recognized leading experts in their research fields, who have demonstrated outstanding proficiency and have achieved distinction in their profession. The proceedings would be published by IOP Journal of Physics Conference Series. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the members of Technical Program Committee and organizers for their enthusiasm, time, and expertise. The Fourth international conference “Shape Memory Alloys” (SMA 2021) continues the tradition of regular scientific events on shape memory alloys held in various cities of the Soviet Union: Kiev (1980, 1991), Voronezh (1982), Tomsk (1985), Novgorod (1989), Kosov (1991), St. Petersburg (1995). These days, the First conference “Shape Memory Alloys: properties, technologies, and prospects” was held in 2014 in Vitebsk (Belarus), the Second one – in 2016 in St. Petersburg, the Third one – in 2018 in Chelyabinsk. The aim of the conference is to review modern research and development directions in the field of shape memory alloys and related phenomena: from studying their structure, physical, mechanical, and functional properties to mathematical modeling of the shape memory materials’ behavior and their applications. The International Conference on Materials Chemistry and Environmental Engineering (CONF-MCEE 2021) The International Conference on Materials Chemistry and Environmental Engineering (CONF-MCEE 2021) is a leading conference, hosted by Eliwise Academy annually. It encourages communication and collaboration, hoping to provide an international platform for its participants to present, share, and learn the latest advance and development of materials, chemistry, and environmental engineering. Academics, researchers, and students from across the world are all welcomed to exchange findings and ideas to draw further inspirations in these research fields. It’s a great opportunity to deepen your understanding in the related topics. This volume contains the papers presented at the International Conference on Materials Chemistry and Environmental Engineering (CONF-MCEE 2021), held during November 11-16, 2021. Under the influence of COVID-19, the on-site conference was regretfully cancelled and CONF-MCEE was held online. For the safety concern of all participants, we decided to hold a virtual conference which is also effective and convenient for academic exchange and communication. Everyone interested in this field were welcomed to join the online conference on our YouTube channel and to give comments and raise questions to the speeches and presentations. We are hoping the pandemic to soon come to an end and we could see each other next year. CONF-MCEE 2021 received 179 submissions in the area of materials science and engineering, chemical science and technology, and environmental engineering. Each of the 179 submissions was reviewed by at least two Program Committee members. The committee decided to accept 64 papers that are included in these proceedings. We would like to thank the Program Committee members and external reviewers for their hard work in reviewing and selecting papers. Hopefully, all participants and other interested readers can benefit scientifically from the proceedings and find it rewarding in the process.
