Abstract To The analysis of methods for evaluating the properties of contact pairs “hard -alloy coated tool-steel billet” is carried out in order to use them to increase the reliability of the choice of turning modes in the generations of CNC systems equipped with technological intelligence. It is proposed to use the value of the thermo-emf of the test pass as an indirect indicator of the properties of contact pairs composed of a coated carbide tool and a processed steel billet. Models for calculating the cutting speed based on a given tool durability period of a coated carbide tool and predicting the actual cutting tool durability period for given processing conditions are proposed by introducing into their structure an additional informative value about the properties of each contact pair - the thermo-EMF of the test pass. The conducted resistance tests of various carbide plates during the processing of P-group steels showed sufficient reliability of the proposed dependences.

At the production of the steel thick-walled large-diameter pipes according to UOE-technology at the tube electrical welding aggregation 1020 (TEWA 1020), the steel sheet is in series bent on the flanging press, the pre-forming press and the final-forming press. When the steel sheet is deformed on the final-forming press, the excessively curved sections of the sheet are partially unbent in the opposite direction. The calculation of sheet’s curvature at the alternating bending causes the significant difficulties because of Bauschinger’s effect at bending, in which the mechanical characteristics of the steel change significantly. In this paper, the analytical method for calculating the final curvature of steel pipe billet at the alternating bend at UOE-technology is proposed. The results of the paper can be applied in metallurgy.

Semakin berkembangnya teknologi bongkar muat menuntut pelabuhan dalam meningkatkan kualitas peran dan fungsinya sebagai terminal point bagi barang dan kapal. Untuk menunjang kelancaran pelayanan proses bongkar muatan, tentu saja memerlukan peralatan bongkar muat yang layak digunakan baik peralatan mekanis maupun non-mekanis.. Metode yang digunakan : jenis data primer dan sekunder, metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, interview dan dokumentasi. Dalam pelaksanaannya, proses pembongkaran general cargo (steel billet) pada MV Harmony SW yang ditangani oleh PBM PT Bintang Mustika Sakti berjalan dengan lancar dan memadai. Kinerja peralatan bongkar steel billet yang dilaksanakan oleh PBM PT Bintang Mustika Sakti pada kapal MV Harmony SW di Pelabuhan Ciwandan-Banten sudah sangat baik. Kinerja perhitungan pengangkutan muatan dari dalam palka ke dermaga menggunakan ship’s crane dapat dilakukan selama 5 menit dan dalam 1 jam mampu mengangkat 60 muatan. Waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk membongkar 4.823 pcs steel billet kurang lebih selama 81 jam, didukung pula dengan pemindahan muatan menggunakan forklift dari dermaga ke atas kapal dapat dilakukan dalam waktu 2 menit. Serta kendaraan truk pengangkut yang digunakan untuk mengangkut muatan dari dermaga ke gudang penumpukan dengan jarak tempuh 17 km dan kecepatan rata-rata 50 km/jam dapat ditempuh dengan waktu 34 menit sehingga proses pengangkutan muatan dapat berjalan dengan baik.
