Let R be a finite commutative chain ring of characteristic p with invariants p,r, and k. In this paper, we study λ-constacyclic codes of an arbitrary length N over R, where λ is a unit of R. We first reduce this to investigate constacyclic codes of length ps (N=n1ps,p∤n1) over a certain finite chain ring CR(uk,rb) of characteristic p, which is an extension of R. Then we use discrete Fourier transform (DFT) to construct an isomorphism γ between R[x]/<xN−λ> and a direct sum ⊕b∈IS(rb) of certain local rings, where I is the complete set of representatives of p-cyclotomic cosets modulo n1. By this isomorphism, all codes over R and their dual codes are obtained from the ideals of S(rb). In addition, we determine explicitly the inverse of γ so that the unique polynomial representations of λ-constacyclic codes may be calculated. Finally, for k=2 the exact number of such codes is provided.

Modern developments in representation theory rely heavily on homological methods. This book for advanced graduate students and researchers introduces these methods from their foundations up and discusses several landmark results that illustrate their power and beauty. Categorical foundations include abelian and derived categories, with an emphasis on localisation, spectra, and purity. The representation theoretic focus is on module categories of Artin algebras, with discussions of the representation theory of finite groups and finite quivers. Also covered are Gorenstein and quasi-hereditary algebras, including Schur algebras, which model polynomial representations of general linear groups, and the Morita theory of derived categories via tilting objects. The final part is devoted to a systematic introduction to the theory of purity for locally finitely presented categories, covering pure-injectives, definable subcategories, and Ziegler spectra. With its clear, detailed exposition of important topics in modern representation theory, many of which were unavailable in one volume until now, it deserves a place in every representation theorist's library.

Let $p$ be a prime number, $d\in\mathds{N}$, $\left(\frac{-d}{p}\right)=-1$, $m>2$, and let $E_m$ denotes the set of of residue classes modulo $p^m$ over the ring of Gaussian integers in imaginary quadratic field $\mathds{Q}(\sqrt{-d})$ with norms which are congruented with 1 modulo $p^m$. In present paper we establish the polynomial representations for real and imagimary parts of the powers of generating element $u+iv\sqrt{d}$ of the cyclic group $E_m$. These representations permit to deduce the ``rooted bounds'' for the exponential sum in Turan-Erd\"{o}s-Koksma inequality. The new family of the sequences of pseudo-random numbers that passes the serial test on pseudorandomness was being buit.

The paper investigates the problem of performing a correlation analysis when the number of observations is large. In such a case, it is often necessary to combine random observations to achieve dimensionality reduction of the problem. A novel class of statistical measures is obtained by approximating the Taylor expansion of a general multivariate scalar symmetric function by a univariate polynomial in the variable given as a simple sum of the original random variables. The mean value of the polynomial is then a weighted sum of statistical central sum-moments with the weights being application dependent. Computing the sum-moments is computationally efficient and amenable to mathematical analysis, provided that the distribution of the sum of random variables can be obtained. Among several auxiliary results also obtained, the first order sum-moments corresponding to sample means are used to reduce the numerical complexity of linear regression by partitioning the data into disjoint subsets. Illustrative examples provided assume the first and the second order Markov processes.

Our perpose in this work is the complete the study of Simsek numbers. We give answer to some open problems concerning polynomial representations and associated generating function. At the end of the study we investigate a new generalization of these numbers and obtain useful identities which connect Simsek numbers and Stirling numbers of second kind.

Abstract For qualitative probability spaces, monotone continuity and third-order atom-swarming are together sufficient for a unique countably additive probability measure representation that may have atoms (Mackenzie in Theor Econ 14:709–778, 2019). We provide a new proof by appealing to a theorem of Luce (Ann Math Stat 38:780–786, 1967), highlighting the usefulness of extensive measurement theory (Krantz et al. in Foundations of Measurement Volume I: Additive and Polynomial Representations. Academic Press, New York, 1971) for economists.
