ABSTRACTThis paper reports on the nature and extent of intrapreneurship (or corporate entrepreneurship) practiced by Australian businesses. We examined the relationship between measures of corporate entrepreneurship and finn growth and profitability. and utilised measures devised by earlier researchers attempting to assess corporate entrepreneurship, viz: new business venturing, innovativeness, self-renewal, and proactiveness. Control variables included industry, finn age, and finn size. Interestingly, we found that the items measuring corporate entrepreneurship loaded onto not four but five factors, effectively splitting the self-renewal measure into two distinct elements, Profitability was significantly correlated with self-renewal (negative) and organisational support (positive) while growth was found to be significantly and positively related to both new business venturing and environmental munificence.

A series of identities of correlation functions K(n1, n2, …, nN) are given in the nearest-particle system. The above correlation identities are applied to the one-dimensional contact process. The decoupling induced by a renewal measure yields the first approximation: [Formula: see text] for the critical value and [Formula: see text] for the order parameter, which makes a rigorous bound as proved by Holley and Liggett. Furthermore, introducing a new decoupling procedure, improved estimations of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are calculated.

We regard the standard stochastic model of renewal theory as a functional which associates with a lifetime distribution μ the corresponding renewal measure v = Σ0 ∞ μ ∗ n . The behaviour of this functional near exponential distributions is investigated. The literature mainly deals with the asymptotic behaviour of v([0, t]) and v[t, t + 1]) as t → ∞— this new approach leads to expansions which are valid uniformly in t ∈ R.
