Case Study on the Implementation of G Company’s Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility

Over the years, scholars have verified that corporate social responsibility activities can bring sustainable competitive advantages to enterprise, but few have studied how to apply the corporate social responsibility theoretical framework to corporate activities. This paper selects G company, a listed company in China, as the case. It is an excellent company rated as “five-star social responsibility fulfillment enterprise” by CFIE (China Federation of Industrial Economics) from 2014 to 2017, we explore the way of combining social responsibility activities with corporate strategy, so as to provide experience and reference for other companies in fulfilling social responsibility continuously. We found that G company took the R&D of green silicone material products as the main driving force to fulfill its social responsibility, and closely combines its core business activities with social responsibility activities, runs the concept of social responsibility through the whole process of production and operation, and strives to build a social responsibility management mechanism with the characteristics of company, thus bringing sustainable competitive advantages of enterprise.

The dividend policy of a company as an instrument of the long-term sustainability and a measure of the corporate responsibility

Current crisis caused by a lockdown puts many challenges on every corporation. In a situation of an unprecedently low demand in many spheres of business it is essential for companies to stay sustainable. Another key trend of the year 2020 is social unrest. Customers and partners expect companies to follow generally accepted companies responsibility principles. For companies one of the key instruments that can address both these issues is its dividend policy. This article describes how the leading Russian private O&G company Lukoil uses its new dividend policy to overcome the challenges.

Response to Neutrons and γ-rays of Two Liquid Scintillators

UltimaGoldTM AB and OptiphaseTrisafe are two liquid scintillators made by Perkin Elmer and EG & G Company respectively. Both are commercially promoted as scintillation detectors for α and β particles. In this work, the responses to γ-rays and neutrons of UltimaGoldTM AB and OptiphaseTriSafe liquid scintillators, without and with reflector, have been measured aiming to use these scintillators as γ-rays and neutron detectors. Responses to γ-rays and neutrons were measured as pulse shape spectra in a multichannel analyzer. Scintillators were exposed to gamma rays produced by 137Cs, 54Mn, 22Na and 60Co sources. The response to neutrons was obtained with a 241AmBe neutron source that was measured to 25 and 50 cm from the scintillators. The pulse height spectra due to gamma rays are shifted to larger channels as the photon energy increases and these responses are different from the response due to neutrons. Thus, UltimaGoldTM AB and OptiphaseTrisafe can be used to detect γ-rays and neutrons.
