This article is presented an overview of hydro mechanical and electromechanical processes. Little attention was paid to the study of these two areas at the same time. The two directions above are the results of a simultaneous study. A joint study of these components of a single process received little attention. In conclusion, conclusions are drawn on the effect of AER (automatic excitation regulator) on the damped operational parameters and ensuring the stable operation of hydropower plants. The results can be used in the reconstruction of existing and designing new pumping stations, so transients are considered for a certain range of variation of these parameters. One of the difficult modes is to reduce the voltage on the tare of the station, especially on the system buses. The analysis shows that a decrease in voltage on the system buses by more than 8% leads to the output of the LED out of synchronism, if during this period for some reason the ARV of the machine is turned off. The characteristics of transients with a decrease in voltage on the system tires by 2% are given.

This article explores the operation algorithm of an excitation regulator of synchronous generators of small Hydro Power Plants (HPPs). The aim is to provide optimum economic parameters, consistent with the dynamically changing requirements of electric supply companies. An integral method for maintaining the power factor has been introduced. The proposed method ensures stable operation of generators in different working modes. It is implemented and the economic effect proved significant.

Design a single-phase / three-phase transformer designed for voltage detection unit of 400Hz frequency ship converter excitation regulator. Transformer has asimilar structure to AC motor, but the rotor is fixed, a single-phase AC power pass into the rotor and three-phase alternating current generated in the stator side. The transformer is used to the detection circuit of voltage regulator , so that the filter capacitor can be reduced, thereby reducing the latency of signal feedback and improve the response speed of the excitation regulator. The experimental results show that, the transformer has obvious effect on improving the response speed of the circuit.

This paper introduces the research on the Excitation Regulator of the Synchronous Generator with dual CPUs, based on Digital Signal Processor (TMS320LF2812). With the multiple functions of monitoring, analysis, controlling and protection, it overcomes the shortage of the domestic excitation device in terms of self-monitoring and self-protection,which effectively improves device reliability. By analyzing the allocation of reactive load of the interconnected Synchronous Motor group, the model of the digital excitation regulator by Simulink of MATLAB is produced. The results of the simulation show that the proposed regulation model are feasible, satisfying various running demands of the Synchronous Motor and Power System.
