In this work, we study the generalized 2D equal-width equation which arises in various fields of science. With the aid of numerous methods which includes Lie symmetry analysis, power series expansion and Weierstrass method, we produce closed-form solutions of this model. The exact solutions obtained are the snoidal wave, cnoidal wave, Weierstrass elliptic function, Jacobi elliptic cosine function, solitary wave and exponential function solutions. Moreover, we give a graphical representation of the obtained solutions using certain parametric values. Furthermore, the conserved vectors of the underlying equation are constructed by utilizing two approaches: the multiplier method and Noether’s theorem. The multiplier method provided us with four local conservation laws, whereas Noether’s theorem yielded five nonlocal conservation laws. The conservation laws that are constructed contain the conservation of energy and momentum.

The relation between symmetries and conservation laws for solitons in a ferromagnet is complicated by the presence of gyroscopic (precessional) forces, whose description in the Lagrangian framework involves a background gauge field. This makes canonical momenta gauge-dependent and requires a careful application of Noether’s theorem. We show that Cartan’s theory of differential forms is a natural language for this task. We use it to derive conserved momenta of the Belavin–Polyakov skyrmion, whose symmetries include translation, global spin rotation, and dilation.

Perceptual constancy refers to the fact that the perceived geometrical and physical characteristics of objects remain constant despite transformations of the objects such as rigid motion. Perceptual constancy is essential in everything we do, like recognition of familiar objects and scenes, planning and executing visual navigation, visuomotor coordination, and many more. Perceptual constancy would not exist without the geometrical and physical permanence of objects: their shape, size, and weight. Formally, perceptual constancy and permanence of objects are invariants, also known in mathematics and physics as symmetries. Symmetries of the Laws of Physics received a central status due to mathematical theorems of Emmy Noether formulated and proved over 100 years ago. These theorems connected symmetries of the physical laws to conservation laws through the least-action principle. We show how Noether's theorem is applied to mirror-symmetrical objects and establishes mental shape representation (perceptual conservation) through the application of a simplicity (least-action) principle. This way, the formalism of Noether's theorem provides a computational explanation of the relation between the physical world and its mental representation.
