Novel techniques are being focused on the enrichment of the performance characteristics under different machining processes. Cryogenic is one of such novel practices that tunes the surface integrity with vast variations with the traditional machining processes. Dimensional accuracy, surface roughness, material removal rate with less reduction in scrap of material is one of the prior targets of production process. Wire cut Electro Discharge Machining (WEDM) is one method that satisfy with upgrading performance characteristics. In order to step-up these performance characteristics in attaining superior quality, cryogenics practices have collaborated with the WEDM process. Present paper deals with the reviews of the researchers that have been performed over cryogenic treated WEDM process. Effect of performance characteristics like pulse on, pulse off, current, voltage, wire tension, wire feed is discussed with relation to material removal rate, tool wear rate and surface roughness evolved. Key concept of paper is to include the research ideology with best feasible techniques that can prevail in production practice in order of contribute to the forthcoming researches in industrial and production departments.

The growth of electricity demand has put forward higher requirements for transmission line performance. Aluminum composite carbon fiber cores (ACCC) has better performance than traditional steel core aluminum conductor and can better meet the requirements of power transmission and transformation field. However, at present, the wedge-shaped self-locking tension clamp is usually used for aluminum composite carbon fiber cores, which is complicated in construction technology and poor in economy, which restricts the promotion and application of aluminum composite carbon fiber cores. In order to solve the above problems, three kinds of tension clamp structures applied to different specifications of aluminum conductors composite core are optimized. Through the strength and grip test of the clamp, it is verified that the grip force of the clamp structure designed can reach 95% of the rated tensile strength of the conductor. Finally, through the comparative analysis of construction and installation, it is concluded that the pre-twisted tension wire clamp designed has a good economic effect.

Introduction. Nonunion patella with quadriceps contracture is an unusual orthopaedic finding. Very few cases have been recorded in the past with this complication. We present a case of a 40-year-old male with nonunion patella with quadriceps contracture secondary to trauma. Case Report. A 40-year-old male with posttraumatic nonunion patella with quadriceps contracture since 6 months presented with complaints of defect in the left knee with restriction of movements. X-ray of the left knee confirmed our findings. He underwent quadricepsplasty with double-tension band wiring for the patella followed by rigorous physiotherapy to achieve the current level of the knee flexion of 110 degrees. Conclusion. We conclude that quadricepsplasty with tension band wiring and neutralization wire is one of the good modalities of treatment for a nonunion patella associated with quadriceps contracture.
