For a smooth projective variety [Formula: see text], we study analogs of Quot schemes using hearts of non-standard [Formula: see text]-structures of [Formula: see text]. The technical framework uses families of [Formula: see text]-structures as studied in A. Bayer, M. Lahoz, E. Macrì, H. Nuer, A. Perry and P. Stellari, Stability conditions in families, preprint (2019), arXiv:1902.08184. We provide several examples and suggest possible directions of further investigation, as we reinterpret moduli spaces of stable pairs, in the sense of M. Thaddeus, Stable pairs, linear systems and the Verlinde formula, Invent. Math. 117(2) (1994) 317–353; D. Huybrechts and M. Lehn, Stable pairs on curves and surfaces, J. Algebraic Geom. 4(1) (1995) 67–104, as instances of Quot schemes.

We investigate the deformations of pairs [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is a line bundle on a smooth projective variety [Formula: see text], defined over an algebraically closed field [Formula: see text] of characteristic 0. In particular, we prove that the DG-Lie algebra controlling the deformations of the pair [Formula: see text] is homotopy abelian whenever [Formula: see text] has trivial canonical bundle, and so these deformations are unobstructed.

AbstractGiven a smooth projective variety, a Chow–Künneth decomposition is called multiplicative if it is compatible with the intersection product. Following works of Beauville and Voisin, Shen and Vial conjectured that hyper-Kähler varieties admit a multiplicative Chow–Künneth decomposition. In this paper, based on the mysterious link between Fano varieties with cohomology of K3 type and hyper-Kähler varieties, we ask whether Fano varieties with cohomology of K3 type also admit a multiplicative Chow–Künneth decomposition, and provide evidence by establishing their existence for cubic fourfolds and Küchle fourfolds of type c7. The main input in the cubic hypersurface case is the Franchetta property for the square of the Fano variety of lines; this was established in our earlier work in the fourfold case and is generalized here to arbitrary dimension. On the other end of the spectrum, we also give evidence that varieties with ample canonical class and with cohomology of K3 type might admit a multiplicative Chow–Künneth decomposition, by establishing this for two families of Todorov surfaces.

AbstractWe prove that a vector bundle on a smooth projective variety is (semi)stable if the restriction on a fixed ample smooth subvariety is (semi)stable.

AbstractIn this paper, we study a single-valued integration pairing between differential forms and dual differential forms which subsumes some classical constructions in mathematics and physics. It can be interpreted as a p-adic period pairing at the infinite prime. The single-valued integration pairing is defined by transporting the action of complex conjugation from singular to de Rham cohomology via the comparison isomorphism. We show how quite general families of period integrals admit canonical single-valued versions and prove some general formulae for them. This implies an elementary “double copy” formula expressing certain singular volume integrals over the complex points of a smooth projective variety as a quadratic expression in ordinary period integrals of half the dimension. We provide several examples, including non-holomorphic modular forms, archimedean Néron–Tate heights on curves, single-valued multiple zeta values and polylogarithms. The results of the present paper are used in [F. Brown and C. Dupont, Single-valued integration and superstring amplitudes in genus zero, preprint 2019, https://arxiv.org/abs/1910.01107] to prove a recent conjecture of Stieberger which relates the coefficients in a Laurent expansion of two different kinds of periods of twisted cohomology on the moduli spaces of curves {\mathcal{M}_{0,n}} of genus zero with n marked points. We also study a morphism between certain rings of “motivic” periods, called the de Rham projection, which provides a bridge between complex periods and single-valued periods in many situations of interest.

AbstractGiven a stability condition on a smooth projective variety X, we construct a family of stability conditions on {X\times C}, where C is a smooth projective curve. In particular, this gives the existence of stability conditions on arbitrary products of curves. The proof uses, by following an idea of Toda, the positivity lemma established by Bayer and Macrì and weak stability conditions on the Abramovich-Polishchuk heart of a bounded t-structure in {D(X\times C)}.

For a smooth projective variety [Formula: see text], we consider when the diagonal [Formula: see text] is nef as a cycle on [Formula: see text]. In particular, we give a classification of complete intersections and smooth del Pezzo varieties where the diagonal is nef. We also study the nefness of the diagonal for spherical varieties.

Abstract We introduce logarithmic Picard algebroids, a natural class of Lie algebroids adapted to a simple normal crossings divisor on a smooth projective variety. We show that such algebroids are classified by a subspace of the de Rham cohomology of the divisor complement determined by its mixed Hodge structure. We then solve the prequantization problem, showing that under the appropriate integrality condition, a log Picard algebroid is the Lie algebroid of symmetries of what is called a meromorphic line bundle, a generalization of the usual notion of line bundle in which the fibers degenerate along the divisor. We give a geometric description of such bundles and establish a classification theorem for them, showing that they correspond to a subgroup of the holomorphic line bundles on the divisor complement. Importantly, these holomorphic line bundles need not be algebraic. Finally, we provide concrete methods for explicitly constructing examples of meromorphic line bundles, such as for a smooth cubic divisor in the projective plane.

Abstract We develop a local positivity theory for movable curves on projective varieties similar to the classical Seshadri constants of nef divisors. We give analogues of the Seshadri ampleness criterion, of a characterization of the augmented base locus of a big and nef divisor, and of the interpretation of Seshadri constants as an asymptotic measure of jet separation. As application, we show in any characteristic that if $C$ is a smooth curve with ample normal bundle in a smooth projective variety then the class of $C$ is in the strict interior of the Mori cone. This was conjectured by Peternell and proved by Ottem and Lau in Characteristic 0.

Abstract Let $f \colon X \to Y$ be the blow-up of a smooth projective variety $Y$ along its codimension two smooth closed subvariety. In this paper, we show that the moduli space of stable sheaves on $X$ and $Y$ are connected by a sequence of flip-like diagrams. The result is a higher dimensional generalization of the result of Nakajima and Yoshioka, which is the case of $\dim Y=2$. As an application of our general result, we study the birational geometry of the Hilbert scheme of two points.
