Laser exhibition technology has been widely used in the virtual environment of exhibitions and shows, as well as in the physical conference and exhibition centers. However, the speckle issue due to the high coherence of laser sources has caused harmful impacts on image quality, which is one of the obstacles to exhibition effects. In this paper, we design a compact Nd:YAG/PPMgLN laser module at 561.5 nm and use two different types of big-core multi-mode fibers to lower the spatial coherence. According to our experiment, the speckle contrasts relating to these two types reduce to 7.9% and 4.1%, respectively. The results of this paper contribute to improving the application effects of key optical components in the exhibitions. Only in this way can we provide technical supports and service guarantee for the development of the exhibition activities, and an immersive interactive experience for the audiences.

In this fast-paced world, it is inevitable that the manual labor employed in industries will be replaced by their automated counterparts. There are a number of existing solutions which deal with object dimensions estimation but only a few of them are suitable for deployment in the industry. The reason being the trade-off between the cost, time for processing, accuracy and system complexity. The proposed system aims to automate the mentioned tasks with the help of a single camera and a line laser module for each conveyor belt setup using laser triangulation method to measure the height and edge detection algorithm for measuring the length and breadth of the object. The minimal use of equipment makes the system simple, power and time efficient. The proposed system has an average error of around 3% in the dimension estimation.

A laser line generator projects a straight line on an object and is widely used for alignment, identification, barcode reading, etc. Conventional laser line generators make use of cylindrical and Powell lenses that convert a laser beam spot into a line. Because of a fixed fan angle, however, the length and brightness of the generated line depends on the working distance between the laser module and object. In this project, using the optical system design software Zemax and engineering CAD software Solidworks, a micromirror based laser line generator is designed and fabricated. The performance of the fabricated micromirror based laser line generator is tested and compared with the performance of a conventional laser line generator. The results show that the length and brightness of image line can be kept constant by the designed generator.
