The theory of embedding of spaces of differentiable functions studies the important relations of differential (smoothness) properties of functions in various metrics and has a wide application in the theory of boundary value problems of mathematical physics, approximation theory, and other fields of mathematics. In this article, we prove the embedding theorems for anisotropic spaces Nikol’skii-Besov with a generalized mixed smoothness and mixed metric, and anisotropic Lorentz spaces. The proofs of the obtained results are based on the inequality of different metrics for trigonometric polynomials in Lebesgue spaces with mixed metrics and interpolation properties of the corresponding spaces.

AbstractWe establish blow-up results for systems of NLS equations with quadratic interaction in anisotropic spaces. We precisely show finite time blow-up or grow-up for cylindrical symmetric solutions. With our construction, we moreover prove some polynomial lower bounds on the kinetic energy of global solutions in the mass-critical case, which in turn implies grow-up along any diverging time sequence. Our analysis extends to general NLS systems with quadratic interactions, and it also provides improvements of known results in the radial case.

Our goal in this study is to prove the existence of solutions for the following nonlinear anisotropic degenerate elliptic problem:- \partial_{x_i} a_i(x,u,\nabla u)+ \sum_{i=1}^NH_i(x,u,\nabla u)= f- \partial_{x_i} g_i \quad \mbox{in} \ \ \Omega,where for $i=1,...,N$ $ a_i(x,u,\nabla u)$ is allowed to degenerate with respect to the unknown u, and $H_i(x,u,\nabla u)$ is a nonlinear term without a sign condition. Under suitable conditions on $a_i$ and $H_i$, we prove the existence of weak solutions.

We apply the method of integral representations to study the ill-posed Cauchy problem for the heat equa- tion. More precisely we recover a function, satisfying the heat equation in a cylindrical domain, via its values and the values of its normal derivative on a given part of the lateral surface of the cylinder. We prove that the problem is ill-posed in the natural (anisotropic) spaces (Sobolev and H¨older spaces, etc). Finally, we obtain a uniqueness theorem for the problem and a criterion of its solvability and a Carleman-type formula for its solution

We study the entropy numbers of the anisotropic classes in the spaces of functions with mixed smoothness and those of the classes of functions with mixed smoothness in the anisotropic spaces. Exact orders of the corresponding entropy numbers are obtained.

We prove the existence of a discrete correlation spectrum for Morse–Smale flows acting on smooth forms on a compact manifold. This is done by constructing spaces of currents with anisotropic Sobolev regularity on which the Lie derivative has a discrete spectrum.
