Indirect Emergency HealthCare is a mobile application which is developed in Android using multiple technologies and platforms. This project mainly provides the communication between Ambulance and various devices such as people on the roads or in the route of the ambulance Traffic Signal, and Computers in Hospital. This application also uses to book the ambulance and can make a call depending upon the situation. The user application (informer) can track the ambulance location through GPS at the same time people on the upcoming route of ambulance can get the alert message and alarm like a siren on their smartphones before 0.5 kilometers to make a path clear so that ambulance can get the fastest route to save the life of the patient.

Ambulance is an emergency transportation used by hospitals, health centers, or related agencies that serves to help people who need medical help. Ambulance is supported with medical devices and medical personnel and is used to carry patients from certain locations to other locations. The majority of Indonesians did not know how to call an ambulance when they were in an emergency situation and needed medical personnel. This ignorance can be fatal and can even cause a person to lose life. Based on these problems, this research creates an Android-based Ambulance Online application that equipped with  a Geographic Information Services (GIS) by utilizing the map feature that is integrated with the Google Maps API so that it can provide information of ambulance location, customer location and the route of the road between the two locations. This application is also integrated with the notification feature by utilizing FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so that users can find out information and status order in real time. This Ambulance Online application is expected to result an application that can be used by the society as a customer to order an ambulance quickly and efficiently. This application can provide convenience in emergency response services so that it expected to be able to help people in need

Optimal location of medical facilities and vehicles is one of the most crucial aspects of emergency services such that even slight improvements in this regard can save the lives of many people. In the large cities suffering from fluctuating population distribution and traffic congestion, finding the optimal location of ambulance stations can significantly reduce patient mortality due to delay of medical service and thus increase the efficiency of the healthcare sector. This study investigated the current status of ambulance service provided in four districts of Isfahan city (Iran) and assessed the potential for improvement in availability by increasing the number of ambulances and relocating the stations. The main objective of this work is to integrate two ambulance location methods, ie, double standard model (DSM) and maximum availability location problem (MALP), to develop a static probabilistic model, which allows covering radius of stations to be increased according to ambulance availability factor. The efficiency of the developed method was assessed by sensitivity analysis through four different approaches, all indicating an increase in the efficiency compared to the default model.

In this study, ambulance location problem, which is a significant research field in transportation in healthcare, is focused on. It is assumed that travelling time of vehicles between two demand points is uncertain and this uncertainty is represented as a crisp and as well as convex set. In order to deal with this uncertainty, robust counterpart approach, which is capable of providing conservatism, is employed. According to results of the simulation process, which is designed for the sake of benchmarking robust and nominal solutions, it can be easily claimed that conservative robustness is able to be achieved with significantly sufferable costs, even with no costs in most of the scenarios, by the proposed model. Ultimately, since robustness is one of the most important keywords for sustainability, on which discussions can be found in several parts of the text, this chapter is concluded with the claim that, by the proposed model, sustainability of transportation in healthcare is enhanced based on the adopted problem.
