IT Evaluation of Foundation Healthcare Group Vanguard Project

The aim of the Foundation Healthcare Group (FHG) Vanguard model was to develop a sustainable local hospital model between two National Health Service (NHS) Trusts (a London Teaching Hospital Trust and a District General Hospital Trust) that makes best use of scarce resources and can be replicated across the NHS, UK. The aim of this study was to evaluate the provision, use and implementation of the IT infrastructure; based on qualitative interviews and focused mainly on the perspectives of the IT staff and the clinicians’ perspectives. In total 24 interview transcripts, along with ‘Acute Care Collaboration’ questionnaire responses, were analysed using a thematic framework for IT infrastructure, sharing themes across the vascular, paediatric and cardiovascular strands of the FHG programme. Findings indicated that Skype for Business had been an innovative and helpful development widely available to be used between the two Trusts. Clinicians initially reported lack of IT support and infrastructure expected at the outset for a national Vanguard project, but later appreciated that remote access to most clinical applications between the two Trusts became operational. The Local Care Record (LCR), an IT project was perceived to have been delivered successfully in South London. Shared technology reduced patient travelling time by providing locally based shared care. Spreading and scaling-up innovations from the Vanguard sites was the aspiration and challenge for system leaders.

Σχεδιασμός και Υλοποίηση Ιστοσεμιναριου για Εκπαιδευτικούς Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης στην Εποχή Covid19: Βασικές Αρχές και Εργαλεία Εξ Αποστάσεως Εκπαίδευσης για Επείγουσα Απομακρυσμένη Διδασκαλία

Σκοπός της εισήγησης είναι η παρουσίαση μιας επιμορφωτικής δράσης εξ αποστάσεως επιμόρφωσης εκπαιδευτικών δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης για την υλοποίηση επείγουσας εξ αποστάσεως διδασκαλίας (emergency remote teaching) που υλοποιήθηκε κατά την περίοδο αναστολή λειτουργίας των σχολικών μονάδων, λόγω του ιού Covid19, με στόχο την άμεση προσαρμογή των εκπαιδευτικών στο νέο πλαίσιο εξ αποστάσεως εργασίας και διδασκαλίας. Προσεγγίζονται θέματα βασικών αρχών εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης (εξαε), παιδαγωγικής αξιοποίησης εργαλείων ασύγχρονης και σύγχρονης εκπαίδευσης (e-class, e-me, Webex), ψηφιακών εκπαιδευτικών πόρων (φωτόδεντρο και ψηφιακό σχολείο), καθώς και εργαλείων για την υποστήριξη της εκπαιδευτικής διαδικασίας σε επίπεδο συλλόγου διδασκόντων (Skype, Skype-for-Business) στην εποχή Covid19. Επιπλέον, προτείνονται μοντέλα παιδαγωγικής αξιοποίησης διαθέσιμων πόρων και εργαλείων για δημιουργία, διαχείριση και διαμοίραση υλικού, αξιολόγηση-ανατροφοδότηση μαθητών, επικοινωνία μαθητών-εκπαιδευτικών, συλλόγων διδασκόντων, καθώς και προτάσεις συνδυασμού εργαλείων σύγχρονης και ασύγχρονης εξαε για την αποτελεσματικότερη διαχείριση της κατάστασης έκτακτης ανάγκης. Τέλος, αναδεικνύεται η μεγάλη ανταπόκριση των εκπαιδευτικών κατά την υλοποίηση του επιμορφωτικού μοντέλου, αλλά και η θετική στάση τους για αξιοποίηση των εργαλείων εξαε εφεξής και σε κανονικές συνθήκες λειτουργίας του σχολείου, ως υποστηρικτικό εργαλείο της διδασκαλίας και εκπαίδευσης.

Budaya Komunikasi Virtual Pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 (Studi Kasus Pembelajaran Daring di UIN Walisongo Semarang)

<em>Budaya komunikasi virtual sebagai suatu kebiasaan baru yang dillakukan pada masa pandemic covid-19 secara virtual atau tidak langsung dengan melalui media sosial. Dalam dunia virtual CMC (Computer Mediatied Communication) seseorang dapat saling berinteraksi meskipun tidak dalam lokasi yang sama, namun ekspresi, emosi seseorang tidak terwakilkan seluruhnya karena proses komunikasi hanya melalui layar (face-to screen). Adanya pandemi Covid-19 dinilai mengubah pola komunikasi masyarakat. Dimana komunikasi yang biasanya dapat dilakukan secara tatap muka, kini harus dilakukan secara virtual karena adanya kebijakan social distancing dari pemerintah. cara berkomunikasi tidak hanya bisa dilakukan dengan face to face saja. Akan tetapi dapat dilakukan secara virtual untuk memudahkan dan memanfaatkan adanya media sosial yang ada. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan library research. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui budaya komunikasi virtual pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Dan hasil dari temuan ini media komunikasi virtual yang sering digunakan dalam agenda rapat ataupun pembelajaran pada masa pandemi Covid-19 seperti zoom, skype for business dan gotomeetings.</em>

Facilitating the Educational Process in Synchronous Group Advisory Online Meetings in the Hellenic Open University

The Hellenic Open University launched synchronous online group advisory meetings for the academic year 2016-17 through the Skype for Business videoconferencing platform. This chapter focuses on the extent to which interaction, immediacy, and collaborative learning are developed in this particular online learning environment, as well as on the skills required for an efficient adult e-tutor. Research conducted in 2019 has shown that learners scored high in terms of interaction, immediacy, and collaborative learning between each other and their tutor, especially when working in online workgroups, while the learning process was facilitated by immediate e-tutor feedback, which resolved queries, and the effective facilitation of the discussion. In terms of factors hindering the learning process, learners cited the lack of meaningful relationships with their peers as a leading οne, e-tutors pointed to technical problems, while both agreed on the inadequate use of communication and collaborative tools in an online environment.

Enhancing Students' Online Experiences

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many educational institutions offering mainly face-to-face courses were forced to switch to online ones. This chapter presents a compilation of good practices adopted during the synchronous online lessons carried out via Skype for Business in two undergraduate courses at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The results of the summative evaluation, obtained through questionnaires at the end of the semester, as well as through formative evaluation throughout the semester, support that using the proper communication and collaborative tools, increasing interaction, immediacy, and intimacy with the instructor, and developing an atmosphere of respect, trust, and collaboration, could immerse students in an interactive synchronous online experience and help them develop a positive attitude towards online learning. An exceptional issue, pointed out by most of the students, was the online presence of “Carrot,” the instructor's cat, that enhanced student-teacher and student-student immediacy and intimacy.

МОДЕЛЬ ПЕДАГОГІЧНОЇ СИСТЕМИ ЕЛЕКТРОННОГО ДИСТАНЦІЙНОГО НАВЧАННЯ НА БАЗІ ХМАРНИХ СЕРВІСІВ

У роботі запропоновано модель педагогічної системи електронного дистанційного навчання на базі хмарних сервісів. Зазначено, що на момент впровадження карантину COVID-19 невирішеним залишилося питання організації повного циклу дистанційного навчання в університеті, враховуючи специфіку навчання майбутніх лікарів. Автори проаналізували модель педагогічної системи й запропонували перехід від двовимірної до тривимірної моделі педагогічної системи та формування на її основі багатовимірного навчального середовища дистанційного навчання. У роботі використано метод системного аналізу – стратифікацію для візуалізації ієрархії складових педагогічної системи, що дозволило виділити рівні та встановити пріоритетність зв’язків між компонентами системи. Автори використали поняття «навчальна одиниця» та «організаційна одиниця» для аналізу педагогічної системи в динаміці і ввели поняття «просторово-часова площина» по відношенню до навчального середовища. Зазначено, що використання методу ієрархічної декомпозиції до організаційної одиниці надає можливість проектування навчального плану з предмета, модуля, теми, форми організації навчання, етапу, педагогічної дії або події. Розглянуто компонентну, функціональну, динамічну моделі педагогічної системи електронного дистанційного навчання. Автори наводять етапи реалізації розробленої моделі на прикладі Запорізького державного медичного університету, такі, як: структурування єдиного освітнього простору університету; реалізація комунікаційної компоненти засобами хмарних сервісів Skype for Business, відеозв’язку, цифрової телефонії або чату в команді Teams, MS Yammer; реструктуризація змісту навчання; підготовка студентів та викладачів. Особливу увагу в роботі приділено реалізації компонентів моделі, а саме: засобів навчання, цілей та змісту навчання, технологічній та методичній складовій. Розроблена модель може бути запропонована для використання закладами вищої освіти.

Organization of Skype for Business service monitoring to optimize the services support Department

This article is devoted to the development of a monitoring system for Skype for Business service to optimize the services support Department. The development of the system was performed using the software of Microsoft Power BI. The developed monitoring system is able to perform the following functions: the ability to monitor the trend in the use of the service; prompt update of data in the system; monitoring of the most frequent errors; determining the trend of errors; collection of information about the quality of calls; collecting impact.
