Denominal relative clause “by the example of”: construction and co-occurrence

This article describes the construction and specificity of co-occurrence of auxiliary unit “by the example of”.  The relevance of this research is substantiated by the need for comprehensive description of auxiliary words. The object of this research is the prepositional unit “by the example of” which belongs to the group of denominal relative clause. The subject of this research is the semantics of “by the example of”, the constructions it forms, and peculiarities of its co-occurrence. The key goal is to determine the constructive specificity and co-occurrence of the lexeme “by the example of”.  The author’s special contribution lies in systemic description of the syntagmatic structure and construction characteristics of the auxiliary unit “by the example of”. The article illustrates the structure of the trinomial and binomial constructions on the basis of the relative clause “by the example of”. The construction determines the right and left components and the common connecting parts. The analysis of linguistic facts presented in the Russian National Corpus allows conducting formal and semantic classification of the right and left components of the construction. Description is given to the methods of expressing the common part of the construction. The author concludes that “by the example of” forms a trinomial and binomial construction and indicates the relation of partial equivalence.

Reliability of an engineering system characterized by hot and cold standby: A compound boundary value problem

We analyse the reliability (survival function) of a duplex system characterized by hot standby and sustained by an auxiliary unit in cold standby. The entire system is attended by two heterogeneous repairmen. Our methodology is based on the theory of sectionally holomorphic functions combined with the notion of dual transforms. Finally, we also study the total occupational time of the repairman responsible for the repair of the failed priority unit during the survival time of the system.

A Reconfigurable Jig Assistant Assembly System Based on Wearable Devices

In the aviation industry, the novel reconfigurable jig has a good application prospect. However, compared with traditional fixed jigs, the flexible structure of reconfigurable jig increases the assembly difficulty, as well as the disadvantage of cooperation between devices. To cope with these problems, we propose a reconfigurable jig assistant assembly (RJAA) system based on wearable devices in this paper, which can enhance the collaboration between humans and machines, and improve the automation level of assembly operations. Firstly, the architecture of the RJAA system is presented, which is composed of three units, i.e. server application unit, wearable application unit, and assembly execution/auxiliary unit. Secondly, in order to achieve the collaboration within the RJAA system, a unified message cooperation communication protocol is designed. Finally, we tested the developed system on the assembly of a 6-UPS parallel mechanism to validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed system.

TIMEKEEPING IN THE ROMAN ARMY

The structure and organization of the Roman army is a complex subject for ancient historians. Of its multiple aspects, the schedule of the daily routine is one of the most interesting but, at the same time, is scarcely known. Of course, huge progress has been made with the publication of the daily rosters of one particular auxiliary unit in the East (cohors XX Palmyrenorum, at Dura, Syria), but the detail of the chronological organization of the unit's schedule is still to be revealed.
