<p>This thesis provides the first documentation and description of the signs created and used by deaf individuals in Vanuatu. The specific aims of this research were as follows: to establish the sociolinguistic context experienced by deaf people in Vanuatu; to identify the repertoire and characteristics of signs used by the deaf participants; to compare features of participants’ individual signs with the characteristics of home signs and emerging sign languages; and to consider the degree of similarity and potential similarity of signs between participants and how this reflects individuals’ opportunities for contact with other deaf people and signing interlocutors. The limitations of this study are that field methodology for data collection was developed in situ as conditions allowed. The sociolinguistic context for deaf Ni-Vanuatu confirms that language isolation leads to marginalisation from community and society. The study established that these home sign lexicons were limited in quantity and conceptual range, and that shared background knowledge was essential for comprehension. Overall, 22 handshapes were documented, and the predominant handshapes unmarked. Most participants preferred handling strategy for depicting signs. Some evidence of noun-verb distinction was noted in the repertoire of some participants. However, across this range of formational characteristics, results showed significant individual variations. Furthermore, multiple barriers have precluded development of a shared sign language and any form of deaf community.</p>

Background: Apabahuk is disease considered under vatavaydhi which can be compared with frozen shoulder considering similarity of signs and symptoms of disease. It is estimated that Between 16-26% of shoulder pain cases are self-reported. It's the third commonest explanation for musculoskeletal consultation in medical care. Severely restricted movements of shoulder joint and progressive loss of both active and passive range of movements are the characteristics of frozen shoulder. In modern medicine several anti-inflammatory analgesics are getting used. Some major exercises advised and a few local applications of analgesic ointments is employed. But no such effective results found.Case: A53 year male patient consulted with complaints of pain and restricted painful movements of left shoulder joint associated with tremor, neck pain and reduced strength in the left-hand Conclusion: Patient was diagnosed as Apabahuk (frozen shoulder) and treated with panchakarma therapies and oral herbal medicines. The encouraging improvement was observed in both subjective and objective parameters.

Problems of research considered in present article, is the study of the bases and guidelines of the organization and the content of the psychological support to teachers with signs of burnout. With the method of burnout diagnosis of V.V. Boyko surveyed 502 teachers, 264 of them - work in special (correctional) educational institutions (average age 41,06 years), 238 - in general education (mean age 39,95 years). The symptoms of burnout and symptoms of its formation phase were analyezed (on the model of V. Boyko. Significant differences in the study groups of teachers are set on the basis of the experience of stressful circumstances, feeling "driven into the cage" and inadequate selective emotional response, as well as the frequency of occurrence of the parameter signs Resistance phase. On the basis of similarity of signs of dominance in the manifestations of burnout in teachers study groups concluded that there is basic opportunity of developing a single model of psychological assistance for teachers with signs of burnout, regardless of the type or kind of educational institution. A number of landmarks for the organization and content of the psychological work with the teachers were suggested, based on the creation of conditions for their psychological support and psychological support technology, built on the basis of the process approach.
