The Russian Federation is in the global trend of increasing the number of the elderly population. This fact makes seniors a major social, economic and political issue. Older people are a part of historical policy. As veterans they pass on experience and knowledge of Russian history. Both the state authorities and society as a whole benefit from this. Seniors are a large group which constitutes a strong electorate. The ruling party and the opposition, Справедливая Россия, give this group great prominence in their political programs. The ruling party has created special programs aimed at improving the status of senior citizens in Russia.

The aim of the article is to present the results of the survey of the opinions of the inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship on various family policy instruments, which are intended to support fertility and parenthood. The presented results were obtained as part of the project “Determinants of reproduction plans and fertility decision-making of the inhabitants of the Silesian Voivodeship”, implemented in 2016 via a sample of 1,000 people aged 18-39. Opinions of people at the appropriate age for procreation regarding support provided to families are important, because they are at the stage of family planning and implementation of parental plans. It can be assumed that the conviction of these people about the effectiveness of family policy instruments will influence their decisions regarding having children.

The aim of the article is to define the meanings that were given to the University of Gdańsk by the authors published in the “Academic Journal” in the years 1971–1974. The authors of the articles were probably associated with the Association of Polish Students, a youth organization acting as a student self-government. There was also a hypothesis, according to which, the meaning given to the UG was devoid of an ideological tone.To achieve the objectives, discourse analysis was used, based on the corpus of texts from the “Academic Journal“, which referred to the UG.Ultimately, several areas were identified on which the discourse on the UG focuses. These include, among others: bureaucracy, student culture, and marine research. The hypothesis was also confirmed with the assumption that the absence of political values is compensated by economic values.

The issue of non-sovereign areas is becoming increasingly crucial due to the dynamics of the following processes. Brexit will undoubtedly affect not only Great Britain but also dependent territories that are related to this country. An example of such a territory is Alderney, which is currently facing many problems. It is difficult today to indicate what effects the British decision will cause for this small territory, but it is no secret that this dependent territory has to initiate many reforms. The original system of exercising power in connection with an unclear status in the international arena is nowadays ballast. Alderney may in the future become a model for other non-sovereign areas that want to keep their separateness in today’s world.

This paper explores whether the Polish electorate feels that political parties represent their interests and how many voters expect the emergence of new non-parliamentary political movements. A nationwide survey study (N=970) confirms that over 30% of a study sample has no party that could be perceived as representing their interests. Moreover, the results suggest that this may generate the demand for new non-parliamentary parties. With regard to political practice, the study, to some extent, explains why Law and Justice (PiS) won the 2019 parliamentary elections. Unlike other parties, the voters of Law of Justice declare that they have their representatives on the political scene. The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) reveals that this opinion is more often expressed by elderly, poorly educated, very religious and right-wing voters. The formation of a new non-parliamentary party was more often expected by people describing themselves as center-left, non-religious, average earners and secondary-educated.
