Oxidative degradation and transformation of catalysts are commonly observed in water oxidation by molecular catalysts, especially when highly oxidizing reagent such as (NH4)2[Ce(NO3)6] [Ce(IV)] is used. We report herein the...

The one-electron oxidation of the {RuNO}6 complex [Ru(L)(PPh3)(NO)(Cl)]2+ (where L = 1-phenyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-2-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)hydrazine) leads to the generation of a co-ligand radical. This complex therefore represents a rare example of a ruthenium complex with two different non-innocent ligands bound.
