We report a simple protocol for the transition metal-free, visible-light-driven conversion of 1,3-diketones to tetra-substituted furan skeleton compounds in carbon dioxide (CO2) atmosphere under mild conditions. It was found that...

The transition metal-free addition of phosphinoboronate ester Ph2PBpin (pin = 1,2-O2C2Me4) to heterocumulenes including carbodiimides, isocyanates, isothiocyanates and carbon dioxide proceeds with remarkable selectivity to give products in high yield.

In this work, B(C6F5)3 is utilized as an organocatalyst for the transition-metal-free N-formylation of amines using carbon dioxide (CO2) as a C1 source and dimethylamine borane (Me2NH·BH3) as a green hydrogen transfer source at 80 °C.
