Dihydrazido-thiophosphoric acid phenylester as a tridentate chelate ligand forms complexes with bivalent transition metals. The compounds [Ni(II)(L)2]Cl2, [Zn(L)2]Cl2 and [Cd(L)Cl2] are prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, Raman, UV/VIS spectra and X-ray powder diagrams. The nickel possesses a slightly distorted octahedral coordination. The nickel(II) complex can be transformed to a carbon free inner complex salt of the formula [Ni(II){(NH2-NH)2Ρ(S)O-}2] by hydrolysis.
