The flavonoids by their natural properties and their diverse applications are a group of compounds whose study of origin, characteristics and applications has been dedicated to extensive research. For the organic synthesis of chalcones, due to their interest as precursor molecules of different compounds, several pathways have been developed and reported in numerous works. Analyses on the effect of some of these catalysts on chalcone yield (%), with respect to time and reaction temperature are presented here. Given the importance of flavon-3-ols, as compounds of pharmacological interest mainly, new synthesis routes are proposed, in addition to the existing ones. This paper presents the main pathways for the synthesis of chalcones and analyzes their production. New routes for the synthesis of flavon-3-ols that follow the Claisen-Schmidt condensation and the interconversion of melacacidin are proposed.

The areas of research, synthesis and catalytic application of zeolites as molecular sieves are a field of great development and prominence in recent decades. Needs of the industries of petrochemical and fine chemicals have been encouraging specific studies for the application of molecular sieves looking for technological, commercial, and more recently sustainable developments. In this work molecular sieves type Al-MCM-41 and Al-SBA-15 has been synthesized using new synthesis routes by replacing the silica source conventionally used by rice husk. The molecular sieves obtained were confirmed by X-ray diffraction. Through the thermograms the decomposition of the driver at different temperatures was noticed. According to SEM micrographs can be observed that the material shows an aggregate of relatively uniform short particles.

The edge sharing bioctahedral anions [M2Br10]2-, M = Os, Re, have been prepared from [MBr6]2 in trifluoroacetic acid containing Hg2+ ions at room temperature. Heating the solid decabromodirhenate(IV) with Hg in a vacuum at 100 °C affords the octabromodirhenate(III) with a quadruple bond between the Re atoms in quantitative yields.
