Disclosed herein is the first example of a mechanically induced single-molecule white-light emission of ESIPT materials. Mechanical grinding transforms intermolecular packing motifs, enabling emission color switching from yellowish green to white.

We discover a rare bluish white-light-emitting Sb3+-based coordination polymer with an unsually large Stokes shift of 230 nm (2.3 eV), ascribed to the assymetric–symmetric coordination shift of the Sb3+ centers.

A color-tunable pillarene coordination polymer (DCP5-Eu1Tb3) with attractive white-light emission properties and capable of nitroaromatic pollutant detection in biological platforms was constructed.
