This chapter introduces a fuzzy object-relational database model including fuzzy extensions of the basic object-relational databases constructs, the user-defined data types, and the collection types. The fuzzy extensions of these constructs focus on two main flexible aspects, a way to flexibly compare complex data types and an extension of collection types allowing partial membership of its elements. Collection operators are also adapted to consider flexibly comparable domains for its elements. Such a fuzzy object-relational database model, and its implementation in a fuzzy object-relational database management system, provides an easy and effective way to manage a great amount of complex fuzzy data in object-relational databases for emerging fuzzy applications. As a sample of the proposal advantages, an application for dominant color based image retrieval, which is built on an object-relational database management system implementing the proposed fuzzy database model, is introduced.

<p class="Text"><span lang="EN-US">Number of active researchers and experts, are engaged to develop and implement new mechanism and features in time varying database management system (TVDBMS), to respond to the recommendation of modern business environment..Time-varying data management has been much taken into consideration with either the attribute or tuple time stamping schema. Our main approach here is to try to offer a better solution to all mentioned limitations of existing works in order to provide the non-procedural data definitions, queries of temporal data as complete as possible technical conversion that allow to easily realize and share all conceptual details of the UML class specifications, from conception and design point of view. This paper contributes to represent a logical design schema by UML class diagrams, which are handled by stereotypes to express a temporal object relational database with attribute timestamping.</span></p>

In this paper we investigate the inclusion of incomplete information in the relational database model. This is done by allowing nonatomic entries, i.e. sets, as elements in the database. A nonatomic entry is interpreted as a set of possible elements, one of which is the correct one. We deal primarily with numerical entries where an allowed set is an interval, and character string entries. We discuss the various operations of the relational algebra as well as the notion of functional dependency for the database model.
