AbstractBelonia mediterranea Nav.-Ros. & Llimona sp. nov. is described and compared with other, mainly saxicolous, species of the genus. It is known only from the type locality, Medes Islands (Catalonia, NE Spain), where it occurs on shaded limestone cliffs, near the Mediterranean seashore. It differs from related saxicolous species of Belonia mainly in the appearance of the thallus, ascospore septation and ecology. A key to the European species of Belonia is provided.

Two new species of Idiocera (Idiocera) Dale, 1842 are described, viz. I. (I.) falcistylus sp. n. (Spain) and I. (I.) cretopunctata sp. n. (Greece: Crete), and their wings and male terminalia are illustrated. A key to the European species of the subgenus is appended.

The European and Mediterranean species of the Acalyptris platani and A. staticis groups are revised, with respectively four and six species. Three new species are described: A. pistaciae Van Nieukerken sp. n. (from Greece, Cyprus and Turkey, on Pistacia) in the platani group, A. limoniastri Van Nieukerken sp. n. (from Algeria and Tunisia, associated with Limoniastrum) and A. lesbia Van Nieukerken & Hull sp. n. (from Greece: Lesvos, on Limonium gmelini) in the staticis group. Lectotypes are selected for A. minimella (Rebel, 1924) and A. staticis (Walsingham, 1908). The European species of the A. platani group are leafminers on Anacardiaceae, Platanaceae and Loranthaceae, the species of the A. staticis group feed on Plumbaginaceae, except A. pyrenaica A. & Z. Laštůvka, for which the host is unknown, but likely to belong to another family. Immatures are described for five species, final instar larvae and pupal exuviae for all species in the A. platani group and for A. lesbia. Larvae and pupae of the latter species differ markedly from the A. platani group. Recorded parasitoids are listed. CO1 barcodes are provided for seven species. The groups are phylogenetically not very close; the monophyly of Acalyptris and the phylogeny on the basis of CO1 (mt-DNA) sequences are discussed.

On the basis of extensive material from Plymouth an attempt has been made to determine the specific limits of the European species of the eolid genus Eubranchus Forbes. From a study of the living animals, jaws, radulae and reproductive systems, it is concluded that five species can be recognized as occurring commonly in Britain, Eubranchus tricolor Forbes (=Galvina viridula Bergh), E. farrani (Alder & Hancock), E. pallidus (Alder & Hancock), E. cingulatus (Alder & Hancock) and E. exiguus (Alder & Hancock). These species are all variable in coloration, but they can nevertheless be easily distinguished by coloration as well as by morphological and ecological characteristics. A further species, E. doriae (Trinchese) from the Mediterranean, was also examined and appears to be distinct. No material of Eubranchus rupiurn (Moller) and E. vittatus (Alder & Hancock) was available for examination, but these are provisionally maintained as distinct species. The European species of Eubranchus are compared with species from other parts of the world in an attempt to decide how many genera should be recognized. It is concluded that the armature of the penis and the liver branching do not form good generic characters, and that consequently Capellinia is to be regarded as a junior synonym of Eubranchus.

Ptilohyaleexplorator (formerly Parhyaleexplorator), described by Arresti (1989), can be considered to be a synonym of west-Atlantic Ptilohyalelittoralis (Stimpson, 1853), based on morphological observations of paratypes and specimens recently collected in the type locality of Ptilohyaleexplorator. The first collections of Ptilohyalelittoralis, from the eastern Atlantic were from the port of Rotterdam (The Netherlands) in 2009 and later in Wimereux, Opal Coast (France) in 2014; however, the synonymy of Ptilohyaleexplorator with Ptilohyalelittoralis backdates to the first European record of Ptilohyalelittoralis in 1985 at La Vigne, Bay of Arcachon (France). This indicates that Ptilohyalelittoralis has been established along European Atlantic coast for many years. An assessment of the nominal valid species belonging to the genus Ptilohyale was carried out and a comparison between the Atlantic Ptilohyalelittoralis and the very similar Mediterranean hyalid species, Parhyaleplumicornis, is presented based on morphological features and distribution. Due to the invasive ability of Ptilohyalelittoralis, a comparison between the two species is necessary.

AbstractA new species of Lecanora with a yellowish green thallus, Lecanora strobilinoides Giralt & Gomez-Bolea sp.nov. is described. It was found only in SE Catalonia (NE Spain) at low and middle altitudes, growing on bark and lignum of trees and shrubs, mainly on Pinus halepensis and Quercus ilex. Closely related to Lecanora strobilina (Sprengel) Kieffer, it is easily separated by its asci, with (12–)16(–32) ascospores, that are smaller and frequently 1-septate.

XXXIIIth contribution.</p><p>A revision of the Anillina of Macedonia is given, with the description of the following new species of <em>Winklerites</em> Jeannel, 1937: <em>W. vonickai</em> n. sp. from Bistra planina, <em>W. blazeji</em> n. sp. from Galičica Mts., <em>W</em>. <em>moraveci</em> from Baba Mts. and <em>W. gueorguievi</em> from Ničpurska (Šar planina). <em>W. fodori</em> Guéorguiev, 2007, is redescribed on material coming from a site near the type locality.<em> Prioniomus maleficus</em> n. sp. from Katara pass (Notía Pindos, nom. Tríkala, NW Greece) and<em> P.</em> <em>caoduroi</em> n. sp. from the road Kasteli-Kalavrita (nom. Ahaïa, Peloponnese, Greece) are also described. Ecological and chorological data of some species are given and zoogeographical hypotheses are discussed.</p>

An ongoing investigation on the Greek hoverfly fauna using adult morphology has revealed new species within three genera. In this study, the knowledge of the Mediterranean hoverfly fauna has been enhanced by describing the following species: Cheilosia candida Vujić et Radenković sp. n. (Pindos Mountains), Paragus thracusi Radenković, Likov et Vujić sp. n. (Rhodope Mountains) and Psilota aegeae Vujić, Ståhls et Smit sp. n. (Lesvos island). Diagnosis of new species, as well as identification keys to the Mediterranean species of the subgenus Convocheila Barkalov of Cheilosia Meigen and the European species of the genus Psilota Meigen have been provided. Additionally, mtDNA COI barcodes for the members of the Psilota atra group (except Psilota nana Smit et Vujić) have been given. In addition, the taxonomic status of Psilota anthracina Meigen has been discussed.
