Purpose The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of job security on doctors’ retention, with job satisfaction and job embeddedness as the mediators. In doing so, the authors seek to contribute to the existing literature by providing additional empirical evidence on the links between job security, job satisfaction, job embeddedness and employee retention by using social exchange theory. Design/methodology/approach An empirical study was conducted on doctors working in public hospitals in Pakistan. Data from selected public hospitals were collected using semi-structured questionnaires. The simple random sampling method was applied for participant selection and partial least squares-structural equation modelling was used for data analysis purposes. Findings The findings confirmed the direct and mediation relationships. Thus, all of this study’s hypotheses are supported. The results indicate that job security can improve doctors’ retention. Further, job satisfaction and job embeddedness play crucial roles in mediating the direct relationship. Originality/value This study elaborates job security in health-care sector of Pakistan and also provides empirical evidence of the antecedents and mediators of doctors’ intention to continue working in the health-care industry.

The aim of this study to investigate the impact of  Work Enviroment, Organization Culture, Employee Development, Job Satisfaction to Gen Y Employee Retention using Structure Equation. The data is obtained from 225 Gen Y employees from PT Pamapersada Nusantara. The responden ware chosen by Proportionate Stratified Sampling Technique. The data was collected with questionaire and analysis with Structure Equation Modeling (SEM). Result of this study is there is a significant impact of Work Enviroment, Organization Culture, Employee Development to Job Satisfaction and there is no significant impact of  Work Enviroment, Organization Culture, Employee Development, to Employee Retention also there is indirect effect of  Organizational Culture and Employee Development to Employee Retention through Job Satisfaction.

Employee engagement and retention is a promising area in management as well as psychology. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of employee engagement (EE) on their retention (ER). We proposed a theoretical framework model explaining how employee engagement affects their retention. The original model linked engagement with control at work (CAW) and general well-being (GWB) through psychological capital (PsyCap). We extended this model by linking CAW and GWB to employee retention. We further added job satisfaction (JS) as a mediator between EE and ER. To establish its empirical validity, we conducted a survey from 200 employees working in different companies in Pakistan by using a close ended likert scale type questionnaire. Data was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Findings suggested a positive significant relationship between EE and ER. PsyCap, CAW and JS play a significant mediator role for EE and ER, only GWB does not mediates the relationship between EE and ER. This research will help in understanding how to retain employees and mounting their psychological capital through training and development, since when employees will be happy and motivated, they can perform well and will have job satisfaction. As a result, the level of intention of employees to leave would be low. This study is preliminary the first to investigate the association between EE and ER through many other constructs (PsyCap, CAW, GWB and JS) in the Pakistani context.

The research aims to find out the impact of employer brand on retaining the knowledge employees in the telecommunication sector in Sri Lanka. By using the primary data, the researcher tends to find the factors which make the knowledge employees more attractive and to identify the impact of employer brand on retaining the knowledge employees with identifying the mediating effect of Job satisfaction. Based on this findings telecommunication sector’s brand has significant impact on knowledge employee retention. Also it was found that there is a mediating effect of job satisfaction in between employer brand and employee retention. Multiple regression revealed that dimensions of employer brand such as economic value, social value, interest value and reputation value significantly affect the knowledge employee retention but the dimensions of development value, application value and personal value are not significant. In the competitive world, the hotel has become a rapidly growing industry. It has created more job opportunities and developed infrastructure. The inspiring growth of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) shows that India still has a huge untapped potential in tourism. In this study we look into the impact of organizational climate and employee commitment on job satisfaction and employee retention. The structural equation model (SEM) is carried out to identify the importance of climate and its effects on the commitment level of employees, and assess the employee’s job satisfaction and employee retention in the hotel industry. It explores how employee commitment and organization climate help them get job satisfaction and us predict the employee turnover.
