ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi informasi yang sangat pesat dewasa ini perlu diantisipasi oleh pustakawan untuk mendukung kegiatan penelitian di lingkungan lembaga induknya, khususnya di unit penelitian dan pengembangan (Litbang). Pemilihan dan pemberian informasi yang tepat dan akurat sangat diperlukan untuk kegiatan penelitian yangberkelanjutan, mulai dari penyusunan rencana sampai ke tahap evaluasi, pelaporan dan publikasi hasil kegiatan. Informasi merupakan faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan kegiatan litbang. Pustakawan yang memiliki kemampuan dalam literasi informasi akan mampu mengetahui kebutuhan pengguna secara tepat. Lokasi sumber informasi, cara memperolehinformasi, etika dalam memakai informasi, serta bagaimana mengelola informasi yang sudah didapatkan perlu diketahui oleh setiap pustakawan. Kemampuan literasi informasi tersebut sangat penting dan wajib dimiliki oleh seorang pustakawan guna mendukung kelancaran kegiatan litbangABSTRACTThe rapid development of information technology today needs to be anticipated by librarians to support researchactivities within their parent institutions, particularly in research and development units (R & D). The selection andprovision of appropriate and accurate information is essential for ongoing research activities, from preparing andevaluating the plans, reporting and publicating the results of activities. Information is a key factor in the success of R & Dactivities. Librarians who have ability in information literacy will be able to know the needs of users appropriately. How tolocate the information resources obtain the information, use it and manage it correctly, should be known by every librarian.Information literacy is very important and must be owned by a librarian to support the continuity of R & D activities

This research is motivated by the crucial development of the information technology era in changing learning paradigm from conventional to technology-based learning. The purpose of this study is to develop Edmodo-based blended learning media in learning mathematics for Elementary Teacher Education students. This research is a research and development (R&D) that uses the ADDIE procedures. This study results a valid, effective and practical Edmodo-based blended learning media in learning mathematics for Elementary Teacher Education students. It is implied that Edmodo-based blended learning media can be applied by the lecturers to support learning for Elementary Teacher Education students.

Background: Protecting intellectual property rights are important and particularly pertinent for inventions which are an outcome of rigorous research and development. While the grant of patents is subject to establishing novelty and inventive step, it further indicates the technological development and helpful for researchers working in the same technical domain. The aim of the present research work is to map the existing work through analysis of patent literature, in the field of Coronaviruses (CoV), particularly COVID-19 (2019-nCoV). CoV is a large family of viruses known to cause illness in human and animals, particularly known for causing respiratory infections as evidenced in earlier times such as in MERS i.e. Middle East Respiratory Syndrome; SRS i.e. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. A recently identified novel-coronavirus has known as COVID-19 which has currently caused pandemic situation across the globe. Objective: To expand analysis of patents related to CoV and 2019-nCoV. Evaluation has been conducted by patenting trends of particular strains of identified CoV diseases by present legal status, main concerned countries via earliest priority years and its assignee types and inventors of identified relevant patents. We analyzed the global patent documents to check the scope of claims along with focuses and trends of the published patent documents for the entire CoV family including 2019- nCoV through the present landscape. Methods: To extract the results, Derwent Innovation database is used by a combination of different key-strings. Approximately 3800 patents were obtained and further scrutinized and analyzed. The present write-up also discusses the recent progress of patent applications in a period of the year 2010 to 2020 (present) along with the recent developments in India for the treatment options for CoV and 2019-nCoV. Results: Present analysis showed that key areas of the inventions have been focused on vaccines and diagnostic kits apart from the composition for treatment of CoV. We also observed that no specific vaccine treatments is available for treatment of 2019-nCov, however, developing novel chemical or biological drugs and kits for early diagnosis, prevention and disease management is the primarily governing topic among the patented inventions. The present study also indicates potential research opportunities for the future, particularly to combat 2019-nCoV. Conclusion: The present paper analyzes the existing patents in the field of Coronaviruses and 2019-nCoV and suggests a way forward for the effective contribution in this upcoming research area. From the trend analysis, it was observed an increase in filing of the overall trend of patent families for a period of 2010 to the current year. This multifaceted analysis of identified patent literature provides an understanding of the focuses on present ongoing research and grey area in terms of the trends of technological innovations in disease management in patients with CoV and 2019-nCoV. Further, the findings and outcome of the present study offer insights for the proposed research and innovation opportunities and provide actionable information in order to facilitate policymakers, academia, research driven institutes and also investors to make better decisions regarding programmed steps for research and development for the diagnosis, treatment and taking preventive measures for CoV and 2019-nCoV. The present article also emphasizes on the need for future development and the role of academia and collaboration with industry for speedy research with a rationale.

This paper presents a manufacturing systems engineering view of important issues relating to IT research and development. It argues for an approach to the next phase of information technology development which is heavily based on real-world applications with the dominant influences held by educated users and engineers who have added computing skills, rather than information technologists. It argues for ‘consolidation’ with particular attention to total systems integration and an emphasis on the need to professionally engineer the human interface.

This paper reviews both the author’s experience with managing highway network traffic on a real-time basis and the ongoing research into harnessing the potential of telecommunications and information technology (IT). On the basis of the lessons learned, this paper speculates about how telecommunications and IT capabilities can respond to current and future developments in traffic management. Issues arising from disruptive telecommunications technologies include the ready availability of real-time information, the crowdsourcing of information, the challenges of big data, and the need for information quality. Issues arising from transportation technologies include autonomous vehicles and connected vehicles and new taxi-like car- and bikesharing. Illustrations are drawn from the following core functions of a traffic management center: ( a) detecting and resolving an incident (possibly through crowdsourcing), ( b) monitoring and forecasting traffic (possibly through connected vehicles serving as sensors), ( c) advising motorists about routing alternatives (possibly through real-time information), and ( d) configuring traffic control strategies and tactics (possibly though big data). The conclusion drawn is that agility is the key to success in an ever-evolving technological scene. The solid guiding principle remains innovative and rigorous analytical procedures that build on the state of the art in the field, including both hard and soft technologies. The biggest modeling and simulation challenge remains the unknown, including such rapidly emerging trends as the Internet of things and the smart city.

ABSTRACT Canadian Marine Drilling (Canmar), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dome Petroleum Ltd., is conducting exploratory drilling in the Beaufort Sea with the objective of on-stream production by the mid-1980s. If a major oil well blow-out should occur, and the probability of such an occurrence is very small, (Bercha, 1977), oil would be released to the surface of the sea until a relief well could be drilled or the well sealed itself. The relief well could be drilled during the same drill season, or, in the worst case, it might not be completed until the following year. Therefore, Dome could be faced with the problem of cleaning up an oil spill during open-water, freeze-up, and winter or spring break-up conditions. To this end, Dome has developed a contingency plan, based on, and updated according to, its ongoing research and development programs to deal with an oil spill during each of the above-mentioned periods of time. To date, Dome has invested approximately $10 million in its research and development programs. This paper deals with Dome's research and development in oil spill countermeasures for its present ongoing exploration activities and its future production and transportation systems.

This chapter is based on theorising and analysis from an ongoing research and development project exploring the use of visualisations in task-based development, specifically the potential of new types of organisational images that may support understanding about work-integrated learning. Thus, the aim of the chapter is to explore the possibilities of visualising work-integrated competence networks—here referred to as relatonics—and contribute to the understanding of how such visualisations can support efforts of organising change when organisational boundary-crossing cooperation is needed for a significant task. A conclusion is that images representing relatonic can be utilised to identify areas with a developmental need and, in this way, are a resource to make more knowledgeable interventions and enable a relatonic to emerge in certain directions.
