Abstract In this paper it is stated, that a set of quality features of metal matrix composite castings differs from the same set for castings of classic materials, although some features are common for both of these material groups. These features (pertaining to a set of quality characteristics of composite castings) have been named as specific, they have not been determined yet and a description of material quality should be performed (according to the qualitology) on a principle of description of quality characteristics of this product. Therefore, this set of features has been determined. It was proposed to add the following characteristics to the set of specific features of composite castings quality: matrix material, reinforcement material, binding between components and porosity of the composite casting. In this set a sub-set of quality characteristics of composite castings was also determined.

In this article the authors present a method for the backbone recognition and modelling. The process of recognition combines some classical techniques (Hough transformation, GVF snakes) with some new (authors present a method for initial curvature detection, which they call the Falling Ball method). The result enables us to identify high-quality features of the spine and to detect the major deformities of backbone: the intercrestal line, centre sacral vertical line, C7 plumbline; as well as angles: proximal thoracic curve, main thoracic curve, thoracolumbar/lumbar. These features are used for measure in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, especially in the case of treatment. Input data are just radiographic images, meet in everyday practice.

The present study aims to identifying the effect of Eurygaster integriceps infection on the quality features of the local wheat varity IBA 99. The result revealed significant decrease in the percentage of protein of infected wheat at (4, 5)% compared to sound wheat values for the sound wheat were (10.9%) whereas those for the infected wheat were(9.0, 8.4 )% also the result revealed significant increased in the percentage of ash in the infected wheat flour. The result showed significant decrease in the percentage of wet and dry gluten in the infected wheat by sun bug at the rate of (2, 3, 4, 5)% compared to sound wheat value (27, 9% and 25, 23, 22, 22, 20%) for wet gluten and (8.2, 7.8, 7, 7.2, 6%) for dry glutin . The value of sedimentation of the infected wheat decreased as of the infection increased it reached 22 ml for sound wheat and (22, 20, 20, 17, 17,)ml for infected wheat at percentage (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)% respectively. The result of falling number test have also shown significant decreased as infection rate increased, it reached(330) for sound wheat and ( 322,307, 282, 260, 250)second for infected wheat at percentage (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)% respectively. There were no significant different between the specific volume value of product loaf of infected wheat flour by sunn bug at percentage (1, 2, 3)% but the different were significant in specific volum value of infected wheat flour at rate (4 and 5)% compared to sound wheat. The sensitive evaluation of bread referred to no significant differences of quality and baking properties for loaf of infected wheat flour at (1, 2, 3,%) compared to sound wheat but the loaf of infected wheat flour at 4 and 5 % have low quality and baking properties compared to the loaf of sound wheat.

Abstract The research purpose of the authors is reducing the energy consumption of the main worldwide consumer - the electric motors- by useful utilization of the input energy through the Regenerative Electric Drive System having also the power quality features. The prototype of the electric elevator consists mainly of two trolley: one serve for the active load, and the other as counterweight, gearbox, power converter, induction machine and chain transmission. The elevator is driven by using 4kW three-phase induction machine through AC-AC power converter and has the capacity of 450 kg. The numerical simulation results and the experimental platform are shown.

Industrial products pass through a multitude of processing steps, and their value is increased along this value chain. With a resilient and edge-ai-based prediction of process results, machine operators are significantly empowered in their decision-making process through recommendations for action. This enables not only a foresighted and efficient but also a sustainable production.
